Once again, I must give props to your excellent production. I try to share your channel to people I think would find it valuable. The videos you already have produced are so valuable. I have a almost two year old daughter so I understand how some things have to be put on hold for a while when your kids are that small. Thank you!

Cheers! We're all fine here, just... it turns out that bringing up a small person takes an awful lot of time! DTPnP will definitely return sooner or later, but I unfortunately don't have anything like the spare time that I did a few years back to put into it.

@Dining Table Print & Play Hey there, I saw a few of your videos on your channel and I'm quite impressed with what you do. I'm trying to get some particular cards printed out to play a game with family and friends but I've had no luck with finding anywhere to get it done as it's quite a lot of cards I need. Is there some way you might be able to help me to get it done?

Great Work! I have some questions to yout tools 1) Which diameter have the discs of your Rollercutter? Is it an OLFA? 2) Which circle Cutter you use at 4:50? 3) Which Printer do you use? 4) which Paper with glue do you use for printing. Sorry for my poor english.
@DiningTablePrintPlay
@DiningTablePrintPlay 3 жыл бұрын
I would preface my answer with this: the specific tools you use don't matter - the important thing is to practice with what you have and make sure you can make the best use of it! The rotary cutter I use is an Olfa, yes - a 45mm version. The main advice I would give for rotary cutters is to make sure that you get one with a safety lock, and if you're left-handed check that the one you're buying can be switched around to work left-handed. The Olfa brand is good for both of these factors. 45mm discs I prefer only because they last longer - a smaller disc will get blunt more quickly. The circle cutter is an "NT Cutter" brand. They do two - this one, and a more traditional compass-cutter variety. I prefer this one because it doesn't need to prick a hole in the card to set the centre. I got mine from Amazon, although it's a Japanese company and I've seen them for sale in other places as well. My printer is a Xerox Phaser 6600 - but a wide variety of printers can do well. I prefer laser to inkjet, myself, as the various issues with inkjet printers (not least built-in obsolescence) wind me up. For label paper I often just use regular full-page labels intended for use as shipping labels. This works better with a laser than an inkjet printer, where paper type makes a huge difference. I also sometimes use "glossy laser labels" that I think I got from SpielMaterial some years ago.

What is the mounting film used here? I haven't been able to find it. I'm probably using the wrong terms. I'd to replace spray adhesives for my projects (if the price is right).
@DiningTablePrintPlay
@DiningTablePrintPlay 3 жыл бұрын
The product I'm using here is "Gudy 802" by Neschen. It's basically double-sided tape without the tape part - just a layer of glue held to the peel-away backing film (although you can get film-carried versions as well). So far as I can tell it's mostly used by signmakers - have a look at signmaking suppliers if you're looking for some. It's expensive enough that I wouldn't use it for literally everything I use glue for, but it's not terrible price-wise and it's definitely convenient if you don't want to or can't spray. If I recall correctly I got mine here: www.cadservices.co.uk/papers-films-mounting-films/neschen-gudy-802-mount-film-16in-400mm-10m-23mic-p-8884.html

It's just regular 1mm greyboard - a pretty common paperboard product that you'll find in better stationers, art supply shops, etc. It's used for bookbinding, box-making, all kinds of stuff.
