I've decided to build a hidden bushcraft log treehouse to have a go-to location when I need some rest from the world and don't feel like building a quick shelter. To make it more interesting and challenging (and waaaaay harder) it's going to be made with only two tools - a Silky saw and an auger. No screws, no nails, no power tools, no chainsaw. A knife or a machette for some small side jobs and that's it.
This is part one of the build. It will probably be a 3-4 part series as it's really slow and grueling job.
The spruces were supposed to end up as Christmass trees ages ago and now it's an overgrown and 'overpopulated' mess with most trees having little chance of growing so I'm picking the ones that are already drying and the ones with little chance of developing in to big healthy trees.
Hope you like it!

Really an eye opener, people used to build log cabins with hinged doors, windows, staircases, roof tops and then seal it with mud and plant fibers. Then go hunt for dinner ? Brutal labor intensive construction. I admire your all-natural wooden peg assembly and donations to the mosquito community. Frostys Fortress, hand made in Croatia. Cheers!

Those things take time, I built a small shack prob 8 ft x8 ft in the woods on property we own, covered it with a tarp, made the frame out of WAY smaller sticks ,tied the whole thing together with #36 bank line, last year, took me all summer to build the frame, busting ass, yeah it could have been done in a day, but when fall came and I got covid I had to quarantine it made me finish it, I don't like cold so it got done quickly. Yours looks labor intensive, but will be built like a tank and well worth the effort, I can't wait to see where you go with it, I know it seems like you ask yourself, "what the hell did I get myself into " what was I thinking " but when it's done the way you want, It can be one of the proudest moments of one's life. Keep up the good work my friend.

Thanks Randy! Yeah, the "what was I thinking" crossed my mind every few minutes :) Maybe I should've used power tools but although this is labor intensuve it's relaxing in a way... slow and quiet. Huh... you let the pears (or any fruit) sit for about 3-4 weeks to get ripe and get most sugars. Then and yeast and let ferment in a cool place in a fermenting still stirring every day. When sugars reach zero fermentation is done (you also know by the lack of odour) and then you "bake" it. Temp should be low so the pear mash doesn't burn/char inside the still. Then you let it sit in wood barrel for next year and then you burry it in sealed glass bottles in yout backyard for the next 20+ years and dig it up when you get your first grandson, your grandchildren get married or the postman is thirsty - that's the Croatian way :D
