In this video I am building an infinite drawing machine by modifying a 3D printer and using LED lights to illuminate the ink from the marker by trapping light inside acrylic.

These are by far my favorite kind of video. I would love to see you go more in-depth with how you approach making and sending the gcode, and how the firmware of the 3d printer works to make the pattern. I know it’s all CNC but I would assume that firmware for 3d printing is way different than doing something like this. Awesome project!
@michaelwojczik3740

it should be basically the same, but you would not use the Z-axis as much, only to raise an lower the marker

@@michaelwojczik3740 Or not at all if you set up the marker as extrusion, you'd actually use laser cutter code probably
@giorgioelgar2272
@giorgioelgar2272 2 жыл бұрын
Or plotter code though not all plotters control for pen up and down. Custom GCode is also a very doable situation which I would personally use but doesn't answer the original question as well
@lancelindquist8925
@lancelindquist8925 2 жыл бұрын
@@michaelwojczik3740 sure, but the g code he’s getting from sandify, is he loading that directly into the 3D printer with the current firmware that was already on the printer . Or is he changing the firmware to read and run the gcode properly

Whoa. It's both futuristic and retro at the same time. It reminds of those really old school computers CRT displays back in the early 60's. Because the computers were so slow, they had to use super long exposure film to capture the images off the screen.

Beautiful. Try bringing the pen holder mechanism closer to the glass so it does not get stuck/vibrate as much, and maybe try with a softer spring. So you can avoid the ''lags'' in the marker's path. Just something to try. Keep it up!

You could try fluorescent glow and n the dark material on the screen and a light instead of the pen. The fluorescence will fade in time as it draws. Strontium aluminate is the stuff to use Just watched Bruce Yany video on KZfaq where he uses phosphorescent paper and a violet laser to draw pictures..... You might need to make the machine draw faster....
