Very similar to the way I was doing it before I built a mining car with its own refiners. I built a ramp for my mining or logging car, each with 4 collectors. Below the platform that the ramp leads to, 6 refinebots are vertically connected. The refiners pull the materials right through the floor. Works well, but having to run back and forth gets tedious, hence the self refining mining car.

Alternative setup: place the craft bot on the wall you painted your demonstration and have it pivot out over the truck. The weight can be taken by bearings and you only need a moderately upgraded piston. You can recess the support plate into the wall and the weight will be on bearings instead of pistons. All it would take is one piston to pivot the machine out over the truck, and you wouldn't have to see the two pistons sticking straight out of the wall

Better yet, permanently affix it above where the truck will be and then you can use tubes to automatically insert the material into your storage system. Best part of that option is being able to use that back wall for more storage

Add a pipeline from your chests to the crate with pumps to push/pull the contents from the refiner into your crafting supply when the refine bot is retracted.

If you put the collector at the back of the truck bed it probably would have reached the refine bot without you having to move the wall forward.

you should have built a structural wall and put your refiner on it at the start point so it would reach the car . 1 shelf 12 blocks in and your pistons shelf don't sag

I did something similar last week, except to reduce lag on my potato PC. Mounted 2 resource refiners on a platform built off the yellow hooks on the mechanic garage side. I just drive up and its vacuum piped to my 5x craft bots. 5x craftbots has been the only way I can properly get my resources refined. My rock crusher is rocking 6 chests xD and 2 resource collectors with 2 refiners on it also. Plus 2 refiners mounted to the garage, empties my collectors in maybe 20 seconds. Keep the videos coming. I dig them 🤙

You should move the side wall to be in line with the roof that way you won't need the big gap on the side

You know something moonbo? You can get rid of the sagging with two ways A) rails B) have the refiner stationary, and the resource collector mounted on the back of the truck. When the truck rests on ramp, the resource collector will but up against the refiner.

You could've made the room by the collecter into a place for all of the circuit stuff or more storage

I just think about it if it wouldn't work too, if the refiner would be beside the car in a fixed position as the area where he picks up stuff quite extend a bit to the side, where normally the collector would be. That way you would have less lag potential and you can connect the chest to your storage system. Logically the refiner would be at the outer side, so the base would be a little bit extended there and the space behind the ramp you can use for the chests and the crafting bots.

You could let it glide onto a block line - like a railing so the pistons do not droop anymore.

Now devs should consider to put some ejection/collector system parts in the game and it will be complete and makes that you doesn't even replace the chest either :D (I didn't try to transfer resources from one chest to another using the pumps, I will try it one day just to see, maybe it will work?) I like the idea of pistoned refinery, it makes life so much easy :D

I would have put a flap on the front of the refine bot area, so that when the sensor is activated, the box opens up

I know this would be much more expensive (material wise) and difficult to do, but I feel it would look cooler and add a bit of realism if there was another piston or two on the bottom of the refinebot just to make it look like theres some sort of support there

Nice vid but just asking are you aware that your double wishbone provides negative camber when the suspension is compressed? Nothing wrong with that but it just looks kinda weird to me

Scrap mechanics next update should be salvaging metal items that were crafted so your not stuck out of metal but stuck with things you dont need

Logic question: I want to be able to control the pistons differently, when the sensor is activated i want the pistons to either be on or off with a switch like he has, but when the sensor is off I want the pistons to be only off. This way if I leave base the pistons will always be off

Given you have a truck with double wish bone suspension at the front and not at the back because you don't have enough space why not add a live axle because it doesn't need as much space as double wish bike suspension?
