With a tight space left on this compact layout called for a custom build for the engine shed. The model railway is taking shape and with the addition of this scratch built building the last of the main structures are together.

Like this especially the square grid as this gives me an idea for building a large two sided oval with squares marked for scenery and figure, vehicles etc....like a plan, you're easy ideas are stimulating, great stuff.

Hi, The layout is coming along nicely. The word you were looking for for the piece across the door is Lintel. Keep up the good work.

From one Tris to another, I am so grateful to you for this series. I am currently undergoing treatment for colorectal cancer and this has given me the inspiration to build my first layout/diorama and give me something to keep me occupied on the days that I’m unable to go to work. I can’t thank you enough, keep up with the excellent work ❤

Tris. Put the small building on the back if you’ve got room. A little work shop is a necessity!!

I've been watching these over the new year, and honestly I'm psyching myself up to build one of my own. Very informative videos! And a nice 'guide' for the beginners like myself!

Notice a bottle of Two Thin Coats paints in addition to those Citadels & Vallejo’s…a man of taste I see!🤌 Awesome video, really great seeing how this layout is developing in stages like this! Well done tris!

The top beau on doors and windows is called a lintel while the Stone o the bottom is a sill (windows) or step (door). What I find lacking is sills on the windows. Just gluing some 1 mm styrene strip and painting them stone grey should do the trick. But still, love the roof beams on the inside. You could also have created triangular frames with the I beams and add the top ridge beam between them and the walls. Keep up the good work. This layout gets better at each video and inspires me a lot to create a N scale variant.

Another great video Tris - love the way that engine shed came together and I LOVE the I bars inside - nice touch - when you are adding your gutters etc, don't forget to add a couple of open doors on the front, hung just above the rails to help keep the 03 nice and cosy on freezing cold nights like tonight 😉

Nice job on the engine shed Tris. The I beams are a nice touch of realism. The magnets are a good idea for holding the roof down. - Nicholas.

Hi mate. Love the videos. Thanks 😊. Quick question if I may? So I’m new to the Hobby. I bought all the track packs for the Hornby track mat layout and I’ve found I have a spare 60cm on my baseboard. Could I add a few straights to the layout (before the curves) to fill up the extra space, or would I need more power? Hope that makes sense 😂. All the best, Jason.

This was a good video. I really like the way you detailed it with beams and magnets! I wish I was confident enough to go with scratch building. I have a craftsman kit from Wills that I never finished

Another great episode. Like the magnet idea for the roof. Can you disguise the join on the ends of the walls with downpipes?

Hi Tris, brilliant video again, one thing crossed my mind having seen a while ago your 3D printed station - is there any reason for not using 3D printing here? Did you find any problems with 3D printing or is it just a desire to use different methods? Thanks again for the content, always look out for your posts.
