How to build a lightweight shed for your bicycle.
The project cost me 59 AUD (excluding the tools). I just hope it is strong enough to stand our winter winds :) Will report back soon!

Omg that’s so smart. I’m out here building a full on bike shed and I’ve just seen this guy do it with a few bits of wood and some sheeting 😂 Love how you can pull it up like that, looks even more practical then a regular bike shed with a tiny stupid door. 😂 Love it

Not to mention when his son's pants came off at 0.43. I think he meant business, too.

Just wondering what sort of sheeting that is and if it's 100% waterproof? Cheers

I used a cheap tarp (not waterproof) couple of dollars per meter, folded in double layers. I would use a waterproof one if I were building it again, though. And cover the construction without leaving open space next to the ground as heavy rain will get inside when windy.

Nice idea. is it still standing? As you say in the video it might not survive strong winds.
@VitallyZilber
@VitallyZilber 8 жыл бұрын
+ksp1278 It did stand for one year, no problems. Then I moved back to Melbourne, so had to take it down. I think it would easily stand for another few years. But if I build one again, I would make the cover lower to the ground.

lol , well if you use to much wood there just set light to it and have a bbq. your sticks a be good in an earthquake zone ,cos when it falls down it shouldn't scratch the bikes up much ;-)

How is that match wood gonna deter a bike thief ?
@VitallyZilber
@VitallyZilber 8 жыл бұрын
+David Gathergood hey David, great question! How much wood you think would be enough to deter a bike thief? :) I guess that would be up to the place you live in, not on the amount of wood.

If the bike is worth stealing, then you should put it inside your house or garage. If it's not worth stealing, then just keeping it out of sight is probably good enough. It appears to be in his yard behind some fences. Maybe he has a dog and uses it to alert him to whether there is anyone in the yard that needs shooting? That's the method that I use. I wish the dog would just kill the trespassers and bury the body and do it quietly, but no such luck. :(
