I'm so impressed by this entire project. Every bit of it, to include the storytelling, editing, and production value of the videos. I'll never get over the detail and quality of what is freely available on KZfaq compared to what I watched on TV in my 20s in the 2000s.

Your "plunger" is called a dashpot. Your "driver" for the LED lighting is huge! It most likely uses the 1895/1920 circuits used in most junk antique AC/DC power adapters.

Will you make a video of when you actually try and use the plug mold? Taking the cabinet off the wall. Removing the old back piece and making a new one moving the plug mold away from the wall so you can actually plug something in. and then remounting the cabinet. Such fun!

I hope the twist in those large cabinet doors don't suprise you Matt. Inset doors are my favorite, but they can be a challenge. You have the right idea by installing the cabinets without twist, that just means the doors must not have twist. I use a 2-way ajustable butt hinge, it helps for finale install.

I find it refreshing to see Lindsey taking part in the hanging of the cabinets. My wife and I have hung them together too in several kitchen cabinet installs . And, we are still married after 50 years. It takes a team to do what you do. I'm glad video was not around when we did it. It can be stressful, but the end product is always great. Probably dont have to worry about this, but you may want to space the power strip away from the wall, enough to accommodate thick power adapters (wall warts).

Furniture making attention to detail on a kitchen cabinet job. A couple of suggestions when having to hoist uppers by yourself: 1. Put a temporary cleat on the wall at the correct height, or slightly lower. 2. Buy some of the Fascap 3rd hands. They can take over after the cabinet is resting on the cleat. I'm 72 years old and ganged 2- 32" cabinets together and used this method for installing.As always, thanks for the wonderful video.

Am I glad that I can live without "extreme perfection" in my cabinet builds and installation. You have a great assistant to help you do the installation. Again, you have outdone many of us amateurs.

I’m 5’11” (and 63 yo) and the bane of my kitchen is that the counter is standard height and it hurts my back to cut up veggies or bake or wash dishes. 😢 it never bothered me until the last 10 years.

I like the idea of the upper cabinet spacers. We used 2x6"s or 2x8"s with pump jacks to raise them. Keep up with the videos, always a learning experience.

What a coincident. This weekend I installed a freestanding corner wardrobe (yes Pax coz they're totally sufficient for me) in my 122 yr old house with NO plum and level walls/floor. However, the major obstacle is that the ceiling has a 35 degree angel for about 50 cm from wall making the height way to short for my cabinets, and I had to trim the inner corners. The coincident is that to make everything fit and the doors to stay open by themselves I had to use the same chiming technique Matt used for his uppers.

When competition of the remodel is done... This style of house will be referred to as a Cremona House style! I'm going to have all these new things installed in my cabinets when I get to my forever house!

Matt, a suggestion- if you can put the driver for the cabinet lighting in a more accessible area- like the ceiling of the adjacent appliance garage- it will prevent headaches down the road. The driver does generate a fair amount of heat. You are correct that they are only operating sporadically, but when they fail it is a pain in the a** to repair/replace if they are not easily accessible. My 1st generation driver lasted exactly 10 years, but the LED light strips failed much sooner and trouble shooting was a pain as it was uncertain whether it was a driver/connection or light issue. I love your problem solving process for all the components. It looks so sleek and well thought out.

You should brainstorm a "time capsule" to place in that dead space in the corner for some future family who remodels the space some decades in the future to find and consider. (A current newspaper, magazine, etc placed in a PVC pipe with threaded end caps for example. A copy of the architect plans? Some of your Merch? Some of your kid's drawings (in case they do the remodel) A letter to the future.... )

Well Done…again! The whole wall setup really looks nice even without the doors. I can’t believe that you both were able to get those uppers installed, but you pushed through and got the job done. Congratulations on this milestone. While the doors will make it look more finished, without the base frames installed square, level and plumb, it wouldn’t look as nice as they do now.

I had a feeling that corner cabinet was going to be an issue for 1 thing or other. The uppers are usually held up with a temp leger board or french cleats. You didn't have much room to the ceiling and dowels into studs could have been used as a temp support. The lights were excessively complex, but look good. It was unnecessary to make them flush with the bottom edge because a little shadow line when the lights are on look better in my opinion.

WOW that's one expencive looking kitchen. Well, You got the skill for it...

Nice episode in the renovation of your wonderful home, thanks. Suggestion: When using magnets to keep doors closed, why not use reed switches / reed-contacts to do the cabinet-lights. They are very small and hiding them is easy. It's an affordable and reliable way to kill two birds...

Hey Matt, i usually dont comment on videos, but it is time for a big Thank You! i follow you since the build video on the sawmill and i have to say, i was jealous! The past few years I allways dreamed about a Sawmill that big. 2 Years ago my dad bought a Wood-Mizer LT15 but that is only capable of logs up to 70cm. And now I am in the final planning phase for my own giant sawmill, it is inspired by yours but different in many ways. F.E. i only got a single pillar on both sides and i will use a chain drive to lift the boom, cause it is way cheaper, since i cant find any used screws that large. Also the feed will be electric and attached on both sides since i hope that this will lead to a cleaner cut. But when it comes to the blades i am not quite sure, i called Wood-Mizer Germany, cause the carbide blades are not available here. And he said that Wood-Mizer quit the partnership with their supplier of the blades, cause the werent happy with them, since they tend to snap. So now i will get the Bi-Metall Blades, good thing is, that WM will made any lenght you need for just a little more than the standard legnth. Maybe you have enough blades for the next few years, but if not you should as WM if they still have them.

Hi 👋, Matthew and partner, nice job, I have made and worked on some very expensive projects, where the architect hadn’t allowed for tiles going on the wall, He was a little bit upset when I told him that he had made a cock up, Then started accusing me of the problem, Many many years ago, I even had a contract to make some staircases into high-end entranceway to a business park inside a building , I was given some dimensions to measure off the floor from landing to ground floor height, I started to measure it out to get the risers correct, the measurement he gave me was incorrect, so I asked him to come back and clarify the dimensions. He told me that I didn’t know what I was talking about, just make it to the dimensions that he had gave me., so I said can you please mark on the wall where I supposed to start my first trade, he didn’t like this, but he done it, I got him to sign a piece of paper to sign the dimensions, so I carried on making the staircases to go into the area they were supposed to be seven I think in total, but I decided to make two and fit them, they did not look right, I left site on a Friday morning, I wasn’t supposed to be going back until Thursday or the Friday afterwards, on the Monday afternoon, I was asked to go to site the next day, So I arranged to meet I think it was site engineer and the company that I was working for during the subcontract work, We got at site around 5 o’clock in the morning on the outskirts of London , we had managed to get all the planned details of how the staircases were supposed to be built and fitted, Explain to them that I had already spoken to the guy who gave me the details to make all the bits and pieces, and I explained that they had made a mistake, and I said he told me that I didn’t know what I was talking about, by 10:30 11 o’clock on the day of this meeting, the guy who would give me all the information and signed the piece of paper with the dimensions on it, was fired, it was told to leave site, So even the best of people can make mistakes, it’s our achieved to get around them and sort them out, Luckily, I do not do that sort of work anymore, as I am retired , good luck with your project is looking good. Stay safe, and as they say measure three times and cut once., 😂

The other point to consider on the pot filer is the burner layout on the stove. Is there one burner that is larger than the others and is more apt to be used with a larger pot where you would want the pot filler more?

I love how you embrace the tediousness of repetitive drilling and screwing, etc... But more, I know how haunted you are by simple miscalculations. These are things which keep me up at night.

Matt, have you considered that you need a power entrance end fitting to splice the feed to the plug mold ?

The return resistance of Salice Smoove door close buffers is based on where you locate them relative to the cabinet door. Soft goes at the handle end of the deck, hard installs below the hinge, medium in the middle. Annoyingly, these can leak oil over time so buy a few more than you'll need.

Are you going to do videos of you taking the upper cabinets off the wall and replacing the spacer for the plug mold with one that moves the plug mold far enough from the back so you can actually plug in power bricks like the one for a laptop or a phone? Your architects screwed up with the plug molds. Apparently, they have never tried to use one.
