BMW did a fantastic job with the F87 M2 but we can take it up to 11 with a few upgrades for more street & track day fun!
This customer wanted more power and torque from his N55 equipped F87 BMW M2. Without upgrading the turbo, a lot of power and torque can be extracted from this engine. To do this, the customer opted to have a Stage 2 package installed, which unique to this build included a Brooke Race Exhaust (BRE) Inconel downpipe which removes the factory cat and due to its very thin wall and Inconel material it changes the exhaust note to unleash even more of that incredible N55 soundtrack.
As part of the Stage 2 package, the customer installed the CSF Intercooler which replaces the restrictive factory item, lifting performance by keeping charge temps consistently cool, even with the increased boost pressures of a Stage 1 or 2 tune. The customer also opted to have installed the Eventuri Carbon Fibre cold air intake which not only looks incredible, sounds incredible but lifts performance even further and insulates the cold, fresh intake air from the engine bay heat. FTP charge pipes are installed which replace the brittle and failure-prone factory items. For maximum performance at Stage 2, the customer also opted to have the Dorch Engineering HPFP kit which replaces the performance limiting factory HPFP so the ECU could be tuned without limitations with regards to fuel flow.
Handling wise the customer replaced the non-confidence inspiring M E-LSD with a more progressive and reliably Wavetrac LSD. This LSD automatically biases power to the wheel with the most grip and does this better than any other automatic torque biasing (ATB) LSD on the market, thanks to its patented design. H&R roll bars are also fitted to improve the handling through the corners.
After dropping the vehicle back to us due to a fault with the ignition system, the spark plugs were replaced and the customer opted to have the full 4-piece CSF cooling package installed, building upon the already installed intercooler. The CSF engine oil cooler, water radiator and DCT cooler were fitted to keep the whole powertrain in check, for more consistent performance during the hardest driving conditions.

🔴 Baseline output measured = 357HP & 391lbfts (362PS & 530NM)
🟢 Max gains = +88HP & 111lbfts (89PS & 150NM)
🟢 Peak gains = +61HP & 106lbfts (61PS & 143NM)
🟢 Max output = 418HP & 497lbfts (423PS & 673NM)

Upgraded my FMIC also fitted MST V2 turbo inlet highly recommended. Went forge chargepipe and Milltek downpipe. You can heatsoak stock FMIC on the road, it's really tiny once you see it out the car. Breathing mods alone made the throttle response so much better and willing to rev to the redline too. It's a shame buyer here didn't do a turbo inlet at the same time. I'm stage 2 MHD (stage 1 in other guises BM3 etc) and thinking I'll try MHD 2+ to see if some second gear spool lag I'm getting sometimes is improved. Don't find stock car snappy? The pre comp M3/4s were reviewed as such, M2 is a sweetie if you fuck up let off the power and all is good:) GTS steering has much more feel and alu/carbon engine brace gives you M2C chassis.most I'd want to do is pure stage 1 turbo and hpfp and custom tune. Car is already savage on a B road though!

Are those WHP figures? That seems low for a stage 2 with HPFP, I thought it would make around 450-470bhp at the crank with that set up or is there other parts needed?

These are calculated at the flywheel, we can for sure make higher numbers on a happier dyno

Are these maps diffrent now in 2023 ? Looking to get mine done and similar mods. I saw evolve do theirs and achieved around 437bhp with a stage 2 map and a few less mods than shown here just downpipe, charge cooler pipe, intake and intercooler. Is that about right these days ?

Crazy that m2 only mate 357 on the dyno at stock power. Is that to the wheels ? I got 390 to the flywheel on mine on stock power. So did mate my 388bhp with his. Never seen an og m2 with 357 at the fly before.

Any issues with the transmission getting this much power out of the m2? I've seen lots of stats showing that the m2 transmission (especially the manual) can't really handle adding much more power. That just doesn't sound right to me though

What kind of dyno is that? The stock vs. modded delta sounds about right but both are very ambitious numbers (probably by about 20hp?). I'm running Bootmod3 Stage 1 ACN 91 tune, VRSF 6.5" HD intercooler, VRSF catless downpipe, VRSF charge pipes, MST Inlet v2, Turbosmart VR11 diverter valve, Dinan carbon intake and a Dinan axle back exhaust. I'd say I'm probably about 375-380whp and octane limited on CA gas. I also experienced spark plug issues (13k miles) about 1k miles after all the above upgrades and switched to NGK 97506 gapped at .022. Planning to go dorch stage 2 and pure stage 2 turbo in the near future. I am surprised with all of those mods that the customer didn't want the inlet pipe and diverter valve upgrades. Have they tried using any ethanol mixes?

It's a Mustang MD-500 AWD. We have never used the items you have used, so a lot of variables between this car and your car + climate and fuel.

A PFL RS3 with CZGB engine will have 430-440hp at stage 2. So not that dissimilar to an OG M2. If you are referring to a FL RS3 with DAZA/DNWA then they are more comparable to the M2 comp and those achieve similar power to each other when tuning as well.

The fans are adequate for ≈ 3-5 back to back runs, depending on the vehicle. We will plan to re-invest in our dyno in the near future to improve the airflow.
