Many asexuals date, but most (I think I read 90%) don't enjoy having sex in their relationships. So, I guess they feel like the app is saying they must have sex, which is just invalidating their sexual orientation. I can see why people don't think it's a big deal, but who wants to use an app that doesn't respect them?

The ad was in response to the 4B and the West 4B movement. Which calls for women to descend to Men by not engaging in dating not engaging in sex not in engaging and having children until men learn how to behave themselves and treat women with honor and respect. So therefore this ad was discriminatory and they did have malice when they were doing it. It was too discouraged women from participating in these movements 😤😤😤😤😤😤😤

Where is the women's point of view on this controversy? Only get to hear from 3 men. How will young women who now grow up in the age of abortion bans date men? They may tell the prospective date they will not have sex with them because they don't want to risk getting pregnant. Young men who currently do not have opinions on anti-abortion laws will begin to realize this may affect THEIR dating lives. There will be fewer women willing to have sex outside of committed relationships. Are men prepared for that new reality? BTW, this is exactly what anti-abortionists want. These laws are meant to punish women who have sex outside of marriage.

I think the real point here is that people don't have to like what they see in the advertisement. And being vocal about their dislike is their choice. If the company wants to continue to double down on what the audience is not finding particularly appealing, that's the company's choice. In this case, the company took down the ads after reading the room and finding it's not appealing to their audience.

An important distinction is that dating is, or should be, an exploratory process to get to know someone. It is not a forgone conclusion that a date will lead to sex. There are hookup sites and those looking to do just that should go there. Bumble was right to listen to the criticisms and course correct.

The app was always marketed as the dating app where women are in control and can make the first move...now we have this new feature that totally goes away with that. That's the only thing I'm having an issue with. Everything else is just people (once again) trying to find SOMETHING to be offended by. It's a billboard ad, it's advertising, it's not meant to be thought provoking, political, philosophical or existential.

Hey usually I tend to like a majority of TYT videos. However, I think you have missed the point, there a lot of women online who are upset at bumble because they felt that bumble was making a statement against the 4B movement. The 4B movement is a movement that is occurring in Korea as a backlash against misogyny and the inequality of women. Many women are currently upset with the dating pool and feel that they are not treated well in relationships where they pull most of the weight like domestic responsibilities. This issue has become more popular with many women since the traditional roles have become outdated where the man was the breadwinner and the woman was the homemaker. Currently, many women have become the breadwinners as vast numbers of women have attained higher levels of education and salaries than their male counterparts and feel frustrated that they now are picking up both roles the breadwinner and the homemaker. There have been many videos online of frustrated women saying that they are quitting men until they can change and treat them as equals with more respect and shared effort and responsibilities in relationships.

My initial reaction was, to roll my eyes and think ‘give me a break’. Nothing wrong with celibacy, also nothing wrong with owning sexuality. Thinking on inclusion, I guess it would have been wiser to give options for every style of life-then to seek dates within that group… The apology was leaning so far forward… Really great to make targeted donations in response to the complaints. However, no one lifestyle fits everyone. I doubt the ad meant it’s sexual on every date. The company might want to be clear that it’s all good and all welcome and safety is #1 for clients. Offer background checks🤗 Maybe the stock went down because more people are meeting in person?
