That's right, you can make a soy free tofu from chickpeas. I mean, if you could make tofu from anything other than soy it would have to be chickpease. The most versatile bean out there, right? This burmese tofu is super easy to make, just takes a few minutes on the stove and some time in the fridge. You can use it much like you would any other tofu too. Enjoy! Thanks for watching.
Ingredients:
1 Cup Chickpea Flour: amzn.to/3Y3AeN8
1 1/2 Cup and 1 Tablespoon Water
1 teaspoon Garlic Powder: amzn.to/3RCIgub

6 grinds Black Pepper

Yum. I'm thinking maybe some miso instead of salt, and since pepper is present I'd sneak in some turmeric. and maybe when I want a chicken vibe some Better Than no-chicken paste. I'm inspired, thanks folks!

We(indians) also make somewhat same dish , i mean ingredients are same but cooking method and end product is different. our has more spongy texture and so we serve it in gravy , it absorbs the flavours in the end . Thankyou for video

Basically "sicilian panelle". With différents ingrédients, we usually frie them, but i think that you can use air fryer.

I can see where if you used vegetable broth instead of water it would add even more flavor.

I really don't know what I'm doing wrong! It doesn't come out as smooth as yours. I mixed it really, really well so it seemed like there are no clumps at all. But....it's still grainy after ...and after cooling/refrigerate...I cut into it...and it falls apart like powdery (I guess because of the flour). I'm using a garbanzo bean flour and I saw in another YT that I should add more water, which I did. I also followed another YT where you boil a cup of water before pouring it in. But no matter what I do (tried about 4-5 times now)....it doesn't come out smooth. Is it because I'm using the chickpea (garbanzo bean flour) flour?

I would try using actual chickpeas. When dried, much of the fats, and magical liquids in the beans are removed.

Thank you for this delicious recipe. I tried it before and it took sooo long time to make (80-90 mins). I won't try again 😅 I wish you are my neighbours ahah

@@PlantBasedBistro it doesn't cause the pain that other things can but it can counter act with my thyroid medicine. So I try to limit when and how much I consume. That's why the burmese tofu might be a good alternative for some recipes.
