I am on the registry. I did it about 6 months ago. Early in the Iraq war I was stationed at camp anaconda , it was a huge base And they had a burn pit That went nearly all day every day of the week. I had black soot on my uniform constantly and a smoke from the burnt pit would obscure the guard towers view.

Super important step when filing for PACT Act claims. Are you getting your benefits?

@@TheVeteranCoach Have not done a claim for PACT, I don't think I present any symptoms. Can I file a claim if I don't feelI present symptoms? I just retired, and filed my initial VA claim and amm waiting for my decision at the end of March.

@@TheVeteranCoach I am rated 100% P & T. I don't know if I can even claim PACT Act bennies. No other way to go higher in compensation unless I qualify for SMC... which I don't.

THANK YOU!!! I have been dealing with a company to get my VA ratings increased and asked that the presumptive condition from my PACT act letter be included. They are clueless, I'm fighting and educating them to include my presumptive condition. I learned more today through your video than I ever did with them. They just kept trying to rationalize that I am not qualified when I am! I have Been dealing with rhinitis through three prescriptions since leaving the middle East until today. Thank you again. Now I know what to do. The registry is something wasn't aware of. I will do that today.

Can I service connect a condition if I suffered an illness or injury while on Title 32 502 F Orders ?..... I was diagnosed, sleep studied, and received a CPAP Machine while on Title 32 502 F Orders. However, the VA denied my Obstructive Sleep Apnea for not being Service Connected......Can you please answer this for me ?🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE. YOUR CONTENT IS SO HELPFUL.

Its a very obscure quistionnaire. No "comments" columns to explain each unique person's experience. In Desert Shield/Storm I was never at an established base, just at mobile camps throughout the Saudi desert then into Iraq. But i couldn't explain that. But I registeted the best I could. 😅

The registry questionnaire is very basic, just listing regions and time frames. Once you get into the actual claims process, you can get into the details about exposure, symptoms etc.

I was found eligible and just got a notice to complete the questionnaire yesterday. Does BPR participation factor into VA disability considerations? I have allergic rhinitis 10% but like I commented on another video am trying to get secondary OSA because of the AR; burn pits may have contributed to it. not sure.

OSA can be filed secondary to many things, including rhinitis and AR but proving the connection can still be quite a process. The more contributing/aggravating factors you can link it to, the higher the chance of service connection. Burn pits are certainly a contributing factor, but at the moment OSA is not a stand-alone presumptive claim.

My deployment was with a MEU but did training in Djibouti. No base just out in the field. Should i just put the base that was in Djibouti? Its a required field under deployment.

Give as much information as you are able to. The environmental coordinator may reach out with additional questions if your form isn't complete

Are veterans who were contractors at the time of exposure eligible? I supervised the FN's that worked the burn pit at FOB Dwyer from 2011 to 2013 so I was exposed daily, but at that time I was a contractor for a company with a contract through the DOD (Dynacorp).
