Burnley recruited so well for the Championship when they went down, but terribly for the Prem this summer. They signed way too many wingers and centre backs. Didn't go out and recruit from relegated clubs which would've been much smarter (for prem experienced players) and have really paid the price for it this season.

i literally did a prediction of my own, and i was skeptical about Burnley, which is why I predicted they will finish this season on 15th, but i didn't expect them to be this bad. I feel like Kompany's tactics are just not good enough against the Premier League Clubs, he needs to figure something else on getting the squad mentally prepared for a tough season and switching up tactics, predictability and swiftness is key, and morale in the club needs to be restored at least by New Years, because i see the Burnley Squads morale kind of low, overall, Burnley has a lot to do to even maybe survive 17th, thanks for reading my Ted Talk

As a Sheffield United fan this really is cathartic to watch, as you said, at least you have a playing style and identity because we certainly don’t. But given our injury record and a disastrous pre season (which included selling one of our best players to you!) you should be beating us comfortably. as saints fan ive felt your pain (partially) and championship football has been a joy not losing every week also unbeaten in 11 what a feeling

being a fulham fan we've had both of these outcomes happen to us. 18-19 we didnt really have a plan but it felt like we could have at least have direction under jokanovic (like in the champ he joined in late 2015) playing somewhat expansive footy but he was sacked after the anfield test, 2 managers later we had 26 points in 38. 20-21 we got 28 under parker throughout the whole year, who underperformed throughout the whole year but we had somewhat of an identity. the issue i see with kompany is his lack of change during games, or tactical instinct and that will come with experience, its also what parker needed throughout the whole year we had him. but again you risk another set of games where you look hopeless or dont win under cruel scenarios and morale just sinks. hopefully at least the players buy fully with him. and foster is a huge miss of course, sad to see

This isn’t Burnley’s fault entirely, the gap between the Premier league and the Championship is way too massive now that most of the teams promoted will most likely be relegated (usually the newer teams who haven’t been in the prem in a while compared to the teams that jump between the premier league and the championship who have more experience).

Southamton fan here in peace - I feel the pain going into every game expecting a poor defeat. Things can strangely turn despite the dismal start. If not we'll see you in the championship next season for sure. Always had fun Burnley away, great bunch. Chin up 🍻

As a wolves fan and I think many other wolves fan. An agree the way lopetegui handled our situation and left us for dead speaks volumes of him and I don’t think any team should want a manager that jumps ship in time of despair and would not suggest going for him at all

I personally think Brazil should stick with Diniz despite the results currently being quite poor. I don't think that's a crazy sentiment at all. As a forest fan, we had the same questions in mind last season, is cooper enough? Is it time to change? The board backed him, and he got us over the line, I'd have been confident that even if we went down, we'd have the capability to come back up under Cooper. This season has seen a slight improvement in performance, and he seems to have developed as a manager. I like Kompany, I do think he's a very confident manager who wants to enforce his style, however there may be times where he needs to change the system in terms of the opposition they're facing.

Blade fan here. If it's any consolation, we're no more confident about this weekend than you guess are. I genuinely wouldn't be surprised at a 0-0 draw, but that would mean a clean sheet for both teams, which seems unlikely. It's kind of the opposite of an unstoppable force meeting an immovable object... We can't even use last season as a measure of this, the two games back then went in drastically different directions.

In defence of Everton they’ve actually played relatively decent this season compared to their previous three

Considering how Burnley ran away with the Championship last season, it's baffling that they're so bad in the Prem. Spent a shed load (compared to the Blades and Luton) and yet performing so poorly. I'm a Luton fan who endured lots of mockery and piss-taking over our summer recruitment (players from league 1 & broken old former Prem players) but it now looks like we've been able to build a capable, competitive Premiership side on a budget of 20 million quid, with the manager who was sacked by our rivals who now languish in the lower reaches of the league below. Building a proper team and creating a tactic that plays to their strengths is more important and more beneficial than signing big names or spending a load of cash. I hope Burnely manage to stay up, but it's going to take something special (or massive points deductions for City) for it to happen, i think.

As a Blades fan I think this game is the tipping point,if we lose then our manager has to go. As for Vincent Kompany,he is trying to steer your club in a new direction and playing style,I admire that,but to be honest, either way I think we both going down.Kompany is too big a name to be sacked,too much invested in him,as for the game im going for a 1 1 draw,see you next season in the Championship ,better league anyway.

I think this year should be a write off. Sign for the championship next year and bounce back. Veteran players are needed. I can see a devoid lack of experience in the critical moments on the pitch, where you need a calm head who's seen it all like you see Silva doing at Chelsea. There's also not that cutting edge instinct in the final third. You see the lineup and you wonder at this level where the goals are going to come from. Would love to see some smart loan signings.

iwl as a Rovers fan i find this Burnley season fucking hilarious, but at the same time i cant help but feel as if you brought it on yourselves buying a shitload of wingers when your attack was half decent already and not bolster the defence, which was very leaky but the quality of team you had papered that. You can have Jon Dahl Tomasson on a short term contract before he comes back to us tho

On the manager question, I get where you're coming from. I want us to stick with Heckingbottom, the instability of changing would be worse than sticking with him I think, we were first and second in the championship last season, Kompany and Hecky have earned at least a season as a premier league manager. Alternatively, we could always try swapping? Maybe shake things up a bit.
