Burnley imo have one issue, They believe they can control games in which they are playing tougher teams. I recall a cup game where city and Burnley played and people said “Burnley could do this, they could beat them” And I just remembered thinking “city are the same play-style, but they city are much stronger” And that’s their issue, they cannot understand that in your first year in the prem from promotion you need the players to have the prem experience and you have to be prepared to have a good defence, especially a premier league proven keeper, Sam Johnston (as average as he is) is experienced and is the guy I thought they’d go for

i disagree grinding out results wont work in the long haul , and saying we will work on performances that while we grind out results is a horrible idea . managers just go back to default grinding after every bad result . and that style wont make burnley go near the top half
@Wilkostorm_RL
@Wilkostorm_RL 6 ай бұрын
@@tryinggaming414 yes but Burnley, of all teams know, the grinding of results often keeps them in the top league, don’t get me wrong, I rate Burnley and their ambitions to be possession based, However it’s not working, we are ten games in the season, if you are telling me you see Burnley surviving based off this failing playstyle, I think you are dead wrong, even if you want it to work, only bigger teams can do it, with the financial backing, Arsenal are a prime example, Arteta came in, with the same “pep aspects” as kompany, his style didn’t work originally, so he made tweaks, but he also went for players who have the prem experience, I credit him with making Odegard so good, he gave him the loan opportunity, brought him back and He smashed it last year. Burnley need a player(s) who have that premier league experience

You're a true die hard fan and as a Fulham fan I respect you because I went through years of that uncertainty especially with Ranieri and Parker and now we've got Marco Silva who I have my worries with I mean just look at his stints with Hull, Watford and Everton but I think he's a phenominal manager who has taken the club forward out of a period of uncertainty to where we know we can expect mid table but because we did so well last season when there was no pressure and expectation now some "Fulham fans" and "football fans" and I put those 2 statements in quotation marks for a reason because they aren't really fans at all have been so fickle that I've had genuine arguments with these sort of people with them saying Marco Silva should be sacked for such stupid reasons as he isn't starting Alex Iwobi and that we aren't pushing for European football after 9 games of the season it's so stupid i've even heard a guy who claimed to be a fan of my club say that by signing a contract extension with the club he's ruining the club and holding back Joao Palinha and ruining his career and I feel the situation at Burnley is a more exaggerated version of that right now which is why I respect you so much for staying level headed and staying loyal like a true football fan and supporter of a club should do.

Bolton fan here. Trafford did fantastic for us in league 1 but we also had a very good defence in front of him for that league. I was surprised when he went to Burnley as first choice keeper. I fully expected him to go to either a promotion pushing championship side or to be a premier league back up keeper. There is no doubting his talents and I believe he will go on to be one of the best English keepers perhaps even Englands number 1 in the future but he is still young and learning. I think a season or 2 in the championship would of benefited him massively after seeing him week in week out improving in League 1.

As a spurs fan I thought you played decent against City and even played good against us for around 25-30 mins. The problem is you can’t play this high-pressing possession based football as a newly promoted team. Brentford and Fulham did good as they were exceptional defensively and Brentford’s playstyle in the championship was mainly sitting in a low block and hitting on the counter. You need to solidify yourselves in the premier league first, then once you’ve done that, you can begin building to the play style you want. Look at forest last year, came to the prem and would play a back 4 and try to give the opposition teams a game, it completely backfired and they got battered by most teams early on, I remember them being thumped 6-0 away at the Etihad then gave 20th place Leicester at the time their first win of the season being thrashed 4-0 by them. They managed to stay up from ditching that playstyle, investing in a world class shot stopper in Navas and changing up to a back 5 counter attack team like Brentford. They stayed up and now you can see them slowly trying to implement their desired playstyle through the signings of Montiel,Hudson-Odoi,Origi, Sangaré, Elanaga and it will still take them time. Burnley need to do the same and just play defensively and atleast survive, Your starting CB Al-Dakhil looks so skinny and weak and and I’m sure premier league forwards give him a hard time physically

Looking in from an outside perspective although he is a good manager Kompanys stubbornness and inexperience blinds him from making important decisions. So potentially the solution would be to appoint a new assistant coach who has a lot more managerial experience meaning new ideas relevant to this devision can help improve Burnley as a club. And although craig bellamy had a lot of experience as a player he hasn't done a lot in terms of coaching we see this when the only jobs he has had is in the cardiff academy and the Anderlecht u21 until 2021 where he became an assistant manager. In conclusion an assistant who has experience can help improve Kompanys decision making and maybe you can see changes like change in team selection or slight tactical tweaks in your playstyle.

As a Köln fan, we are going through something similar, we've had our worst start to a season and we aren't playing particularly bad we just always end up losing, we are also on 4 points. At least we got a win against our rivals, and we are still yet to face the worst teams in the league, but if we don't pick up some form we might be relegated. Maybe you should make a video on us to jinx the relegation 😂 (for context, historically 1. FC Köln is one of the most successful Bundesliga clubs, but we became a relegation club around 25 years ago, every since we've kind of been a yo-yo team, and in the last couple years we have been better and haven't been relegated for a while, but so far this season hasn't been great.) Anyways, I also thought Burnley would avoid relegation quite comfortably and finish maybe bottomish to mid table in the prem, but that hasnt aged well.

Just a matter of getting adjusted to the game speed of the premier league as compared to the championship. They have to learn to be more controlling and not a heavy attacking press as that is how you dominate the championship but not the premier league.

As a Manchester City fan, I thought Kompany would do a lot better in his first season as a manager in the Premier League just like Brentford did when they first got here, but I'm not a Burnley fan, so obviously you have a much better idea and insight than I do. I didn't know that a lot of the players are still young and inexperienced, which surely seems like an obvious problem. Maybe Kompany was too focused on the Championship and didn't think about the long term: Premier League football. It was inevitable Burnley would get promoted, yet he never seemed to take that into account enough, at least judging by this video. He's young (for a manager) and still inexperienced, so it's all about learning from these mistakes, but I honestly wanted Burnley to do well so much and it's sad to see they're behind bloody LUTON TOWN of all teams after 10 games. I don't think you'll get relegated though, I think you'll come 15th-17th at this rate and survive barely. The, after some signings and current players getting more experience, Burnley will do better next season and maybe get close to 10th or squeeze into top 10. I think they can do it and they seem to have the money but I think they need to make a couple of signings in January too. It may seem desperate but they NEED players with more experience desperately. Maybe get a couple of players from Leeds or Southampton who know the Premier League well. Maybe offer Patrick Bamford stupid wages on a 1 year contract lol. I don't know, whatever will work. I don't know why Burnley haven't actually tried to raid Southampton, Leeds, and Leicester at least a little bit, as they have players who are Premier League quality and will want to be back in the top league no matter what. I also really hope Kompany isn't sacked but I worry that might happen, especially if Burnley are relegated. Do you think it seems likely? I see him surviving IF Burnley stay up, which I really hope they do. This is probably the first time I've genuinely been really rooting for a team to stay up lol. Good luck with the rest of the season though. I don't think you'll get relegated, Burnley, being Burnley, will survive somehow and there are always teams like United who will collapse at Turf Moor somehow 🤣.

Burnley remind me of Norwich and Fulham during their yo-yo years. Too good for the championship with good football, but not good enough against the Premier League titans who played the same way or the lower teams who can nullify weaker versions of them. As for sacking managers, you're right in that being trigger happy can cause issues. You can end up with players from different managers who cannot be easily moulded into the new manager's style or shipped to make way for new ones, leaving square pegs and round holes. Just look at Man Utd, where I feel this has been an issue.

as a west ham fan ive also seen people ask for our manager david moyes to be sacked and i also think its better to back him, im worried that the whole progress moyes has built with us playing in europe will come crashing down with his departure and a new manager wont be able to rebuild that progress.

As a Burnley fan myself i think most of our players just need to learn from mistakes and not pass backwards when we can go forwards and probably score from it. We have changed our style of play to much from when we were in the championship, we were fine with playing like that not passing back. Edit: Vizeh I love ur vids!! ❤

I think if you stay with kompany you have to buy a couple of experienced premier league defensive minded players and find some balance. Because there is chance to stay up. Bournemouth are not great and Everton might get a points deduction. Something does have to change. It's not looking good for any of the newly promoted clubs but the teams just above you are not much better. You have to be smart in the January window. Kompany is also learning with the young players. You need some experience in your team.

Yeah, fellow fan here. I think whatever happens we have to keep Kompany... its his project, the players are there because of him. If we go down, we keep Kompany, we smash the champo again, come back up and stay here, Of course this is the worst case scenario. There is still 28 games to get the points we need, and hopefully we get enough to stay up.

I think that Burnley and Kompany were naive coming in this season thinking that they can play the same way they did in the championship. The players aren't good or expereinced enough to play this style of fotball in the prem. Ten Hag was clever in his first season in charge of Utd to play counter attacking football, since he knew the players he had werent good enough to play his style of football. But look at them this season. They can't play Ten hags system since the players aren't good enough still despite the transfers Man Utd made over the summer. (Also, if Burnley (highly unlikely) sack Kompany, then I would go for Jim Curtin from the MLS team, Philadelphia Union. He has a similar playstyle to Kompany with the tiki taka but Curtin is renowned for his ability to get the best out of young players, I.E. Brendan Aaronson.)

Looking from the outside, as a Liverpool fan, i can see what kompany is trying to do, and it's that brave attacking football that will definitely keep Burnley in the prem. Still 28 games to go, and i believe there are 3 or 4 worse teams than bfc. YNWA.
