Burong Hipon/Isda is a well loved dipping sauce/condiment for us ilokano's or from provinces of Northern Luzon. It is best served with any fried fish or steam vegetables (e.g. Okra, Eggplant, Kamote Tops - (sweet potato tops). so, here's my version, please watch, like, comment & share. God bless everyone!
For making Burong Hipon
8 cups rice
1/2 Kilo Shrimp
4tbsp vinegar
2tbsp sea salt (for soaking & washing shrimps)
3/4 cup sea salt (for fermentation)
For cooking:
2 cups Burong Hipon
1/4 cup vegetable oil
5 cloves garlic
2 medium size red onion
1 big thumb ginger
2 Big size tomato
Black pepper (optional)
