I’m Dr. Dana Brems, also known as Foot Doc Dana. I’m doing residency in Los Angeles. As a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM), I treat everything from trauma including broken bones, other sports injuries, foot wounds, calluses, thick or ingrown nails; you name it! Being a #doctor is a serious job, but we can have a lighthearted side too. To be honest, I have done this myself!!! I automatically thought the female was a nurse, and the male was a doctor. Luckily, I know to keep my mouth shut (took me a while to learn that skill) so no one else ever knew I thought that. But things like that teach me how to be open-minded. Nearly 48 years old and still learning.

I'm a med student, some time ago I met one of my brother's friends, he asked me what was I studying, and I said "medicine" he looked confused and said "Medicine?... To become a pharmacist right?" My brother and I looked at each other and he said "No... To become a doctor, to do what I do too" (he's a doctor). Lmao xD

But they are. One requires more years in school, then being a resident, etc.... The other just 2-6 years... They are both important though and are needed but one is of more value in the workforce.... But it's nice that you can view jobs equally. It's nice to show appreciation for all medical positions/titles ❤❤❤

I am hoping that there will come a time that mutual respect and professionalism will be a norm in the medical field. Yes, it is true that there will be a hierarchy but it would be just nice if all healthcare workers (whether you are a surgeon or a hospital janitor) would be viewed with as equally important in the proper functioning of a medical facility.

@@Maya-ig9kx I didn't mean that they are less than by me.... They are in the workforce. Talk to any nurse they will tell you they are under appreciated and doctors are "gods" treated better, given recognition and rewards. I see it too at the hospital I work at. Even when I was giving birth the doctor sat on his tablet while the nurses did all the work... He stood up and said well my job here is done... The jerk didn't even raise a finger the nurses did all the work but he got the recognition and the praise. Its just a sad reality.... Doctors are seen far nor valuable by hospital admins and ceos.

Highschool end at 19 Medical university 6 years so 25 you finish it and then start working Don't know why are you so impressed My sister is 12 years older than me I'm 17 she ended her medical studies at 25 and started working now she's a dermatologist

@@letshavefun5210 To put it into perspective, no one gives a shit about your sister becoming a dermatologist besides your family, you, and her friends/family. Congrats to your sister for pulling it off, as yes it’s an amazing achievement to get a Doctorates in medicine at 25, but overall it’s about perspective. Hundreds of thousands of people have also gotten a doctorates at a similar age. Someone might get their Doctorates at 55, some 75. Everyone starts and ends at different times, and most of the time it’s an older generation that achieves a doctorates especially in medicine. I finished highschool at 18, first 2 years of college at 20, and now working on a 2nd degree than I plan to finish in 2023. That’s why so I’m impressed, your sister is among thousands of others. She’s special to you and I love that, but to anyone else she’s just another doctor, and that’s great too.

As a nurse, I can see how this can come off wrong. I’ve worked with plenty of medical students and residents that look young as hell but whatever. I can see how someone would think she’s “just a nurse” because she’s female, attractive and young, but in hind sight, nothing wrong with being a nurse or a doctor.

Doctors are great, but let me tell you the truth. I’ve worked I’ve worked in the medical field for 18 years and have found that nurses, cna’s, crma’s and pss’s are the back bone of the medical community.

But that's not India where ur surrounded by a group of 1.8 million students to get 40k seats for neet ug examination and then a huge competition in neet pg. After that md ms.? Plus she is surrounded by good teachers not like us. In India becoming a doctor is like surviving a zombie apocalypse....... Those who survived get a seat those who get infested becomes a zombie i.e dead inside. Every profession in India is much more challenging than any other country thanks to goddamn competition coz of enormous population.

Why do people think doctors are better because they go to school longer? Their are things in life that make people who are capable of becoming a doctor not become doctors. It’s expensive, time consuming and not always guaranteed. Just because your a doctor doesn’t mean you work the hardest. Honestly as a nurse, they’re things that always need to be done that doctors never do. At the end of the day be proud your a doctor but be grateful that theirs people around you to make you a good doctor. Can you image a hospital with just doctors in it, nothing would get done. Everyone is important and contribute to a successful hospital and practice.
