In this video I buy a 96 freightliner fl70 with transmission problems. Previous owner said it needed a clutch. It turned out to be the throwout bearing was not greased and failed. Project turned into alot more once I got into it.

You should always put antisieze compound into the pto splines before you install the pump, there is always a small miss alignment and it keeps the splines from wearing. Great job on this one.... Thanks for bringing us along.... I didn't think I'd sit through a 2 hour video, but here I am!!! hahaha! I agree with your thought process. You're not in it that bad, still, even though it was 10 tons of work.... If you had to take it to a shop and pay, omg..... No. But you're still not in it that bad... In your position, that is a nice truck, it will save you money, it will make you money, it'll pay for itself over & over.... Great truck to have in your arsenal....

Hello Jesse, your perseverance with those seized studs is brilliant, considering you are laying on the floor makes it all the more difficult. Was that truck in a very damp or road salt area, just amazed at the amount of corrosion under neath the truck, bloody hell I thought Wales was bad enough for damp and road salt. I really hope the truck runs well for you, and put it to good use. Allways like the longer videos, you have a nack of showing how the parts fit and go back together. Top Man 👍👍🍺🍺. Best wishes Geoff Lewis, Wales, UK, 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

That transmission looks good, the top of the gear teeth are flat and not worn to a knife edge. I don't see much wear on the sides of the gears. it doesn't have a lot of miles on it.
