It appears that in microscopy i cannot trust anyone but you. I bought the AmScope T120 based on your recommendations. Now i also thinking of getting the stereo microscope that is on your right hand. Bless you and may Allah keep your way safe and sound. Thanks a lot.

Love your videos. Thank you. Just an FYI, the person who wrote you wasn't actually confused about stereo vs compound microscopes. The person was being polite in bringing up the recommended Swift SW380T because that person couldn't understand why you'd recommend a compound microscope instead of a stereo microscope. (I was wondering the same thing on the last video of yours that I watched about stereo microscopes and once again the SW380T compound microscope was recommended in the notes--as it is in this video's notes.) The person is essentially humbly stating that there may be something he/she doesn't know, but overall the person is hoping for a stereo microscope recommendation. RESTATED: The writer's words: "...what confuses me was whether this microscope was a stereo microscope and if that's important to carry out detailed observations?" essentially translates to "I couldn't understand why you were recommending a compound microscope instead of a stereo microscope but perhaps there's something important that I don't know about compound microscopes that would make them useful in a way I haven't thought of for my purpose."

11:20 For proper camera mount, search for "c mount adapter" or similar. These are often used in stereo microscopes in soldering applications, and I dont see any reason why it wouldnt work for any stereo microscope.

Hello, I'm an avid rockhound collecting gems and precious metals and was wondering what advantages are there to having a stereo microscope over a 50x magnification jewelers loupe? I'm needing to analyze crystal structures of minerals that are opaque and will likely need more magnification. Would I be better off going with a compound microscope and somehow thinly slice the ore? Thanks for all this excellent information!
@MicrobehunterMicroscopy
@MicrobehunterMicroscopy 3 жыл бұрын
While I have personally not used the loupe before, I can imagine that it is more convenient to use both eyes. You get a stereoscopic image. You can also use polarizing filters. For long-term use microscopes are more comfortable, I guess. Compound microscopes would require that the mineral is polished thinly and this is a bit of a science. You have to use fine sandpaper to sand down the mineral to a very thin slice.Cutting probably won't work because the mineral is too hard and brittle. Geologists and petrographers use polarizing microscopes. for this.

Why don't microscopes I've seen use both the eye pieces then software that can put together images that are 3D? The camera goes into the single channel then uses stacking software to process but one take from each eyepiece could cut out a lot of work. We have stereo cameras also for this reason I think but would be a good improvement in microscopes because you could see high detail in stereoscope. I know, stupid question I realise but would be interesting to see if this is possible as 3D vision is pretty popular at the moment.

I think it is easy to do. Just use 2 inexpensive digital cameras or even two phones. I have used 2 film cameras to make old Viewmaster sterio images. I messed a few up with wrong angles etc, but the human eye is amazing at image processing and generating a sterio image.

Microbe identification can be complex. Bacterial identification using a microscope is not possible. And the tiny particles can be pretty much anything from dust to skin, to anything. I do have an email address and you can send me a picture. check the about page of this channel.

Do you have a recommendation for a good introductory stereo microscope? Isn't AmScope just marking up the Chinese models after import? They have a lot of models. I see the SE400-Z on the low end (but seems very functional), and others like SM-4TX-144A with more features at ~3x the price. I think the objective lens can be changed on the low cost unit, but i don't think you can add/change the Barlow Lenses. How important is that likely to be?

what is an electron microscope?? plz make a video on it-
@MicrobehunterMicroscopy
@MicrobehunterMicroscopy 3 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I can not! I do not have an electron microscope. Electron microscopes use electrons instead of light. They are able to magnify much more, but have the disadvantage that they do not have color and that it is not possible to see living and moving cells (they are dead). It also takes a long time to prepare a sample.

a photografer normally does not need any stereo stuff because his picture is not 3-dimensional and his camera only uses one ocular. Thou the question is nonsense. The difference lies in the techics illumindating his objects.

I was disappointed in the video. You are obviously eager to explain and genuine as hell but you slide over the nitty gritty of actually finding and buying a microscope. You don't put yourself in our position as buyers. Why don't you explore how to buy "the same" scope directly from China. Ebay and Amazon offer a surprisingly limited amount of information about the scopes they list. Comparison is very difficult. They offer no information as to what kind of attachments can be accommodated. Ringlights? Different eyepieces? Could you clarify better or not? And what keeps bothering me is why I need to purchase a new camera (especially a low resolution 3 megapixel camera) when I already own a much better camera and I also have a smartphone camera. Aren't there modifying connectors for attaching other cameras? What is the "camera" that comes with these scopes anyway? Are they really cameras or just screens to record the image and send it off to a computer? Do they take pictures like cameras or is that up to your computer as a screenshot? You are passing over a lot of basic information.
