I just got a crazy deal on the 2009 Yamaha r6. I plan on doing something never seen before on KZfaq by converting this old body style to the brand new 2017.

Just discovered the channel, going to have to check out your other videos. "I have paid way more for way more beat stuff" doesn't make this bike a bargain. Although the price, and the fact that it runs I would say does. Looking forward to seeing it back on the road.

I have a 2019 R6. $600 is a steal. Never knew it was possible to covert the older models to the newer ones. Most of Yamahas frames are the same. Best of luck lad. Love what you’re doing!!

There is no "newer model" it's just a cosmetic update. Same frame, same engine, just new plastics and some rider aids.

Yup, not running on all cilinders. As others said probably spark plug change and clean the tank and swap the fuel pump and you should be good to go! You got an amazing deal on that

Definitely not firing on all cylinders. Check the headers to see which one is cold and go from there. Keep up the good work man! Also with that gas tank you can always clean it out with rust remover and recoat it. That fuel pump may be screwed from the rust causing it to go lean hence previous owner's issues "going lean" can't hurt to check

Take a Laser Thermometer to the headers to see what the temperatures are. I've got a 2004 R6, and that bike is definitely not firing on all four... It's likely plugs and / or coils, as the R6 is known to eat them.

Are you looking at the 2017-2019 kit from MotoxPricambi? I've been eyeballing it for my R6 track bike, and it'd be sick to see you do it! You get the new subframe, fairing stay bracket, all new mounting brackets, bolts and race fairings.

Hey man, I cant get an answer from anyone anywhere on this. Wondering if the 2009-2014 R1 frames are the same (in regard to fairing mounting points) as the 2015 - 2019 frame fairing mounting points? I like the better ergonomics of the 09-14 R1s but want to basically do what you did with this R6 and convert the fairing and the lights to a 2015 - 19 style R1. Any input would be awesome. Love the vids bro

Most of the stuff is bolt on, minus a few brackets, guy on the R6 forum did full 17+ race fairings on a 07
