I had this exact court appearance 7 times (I had to pay my lawyer 7 times while she didnt show up) until I was finally granted custody. Meanwhile, 16 years later I have yet to see a single dime in the court ordered child support she was ordered to pay.....and still had to pay my lawyer fees.

Go for full custody because she will come back with the okey doke and she well he's young he needs help and if he can get some support from family he will be good

I feel sorry for this young father! I know he picked the wrong woman but dang! My ex lives in Texas. He owes me over $10 GRAND in spousal support & he found a loop hole in the system! As long as he is SELF employed, my state cannot take any wages for spousal support! It’s UNREAL!

I feel bad for this young man and he seems to be suffering from depression which is blocking Hume and being able to think outside of the box there’s plenty of help out there for people who are truly abusing it so why doesn’t he just ask for public assistance for the time being that way he can get food stamps to help with the grocery bills and possibly help with housing education for himself etc. there are opportunities out there and unfortunately or fortunately he is a white boy which means lots of doors will open up for him he just Hass to stop locking his way he’s a good boy he’ll find somebody

I get that you're hurting, and that you want a good and proper life for this child, but the absolute best thing you can do to get back at her is to be an incredible father, and successful without her. It won't be easy. It's never an easy thing to do, but it can be done, and with the resolve you showed her in court, I get the feeling you can make it as a single parent. And trust me, hers is coming. And when it does, don't stop what your doing-- keep going. Because every second you spend being happier and more successful than her all while raising your child is another second that the knife of jealousy twists in her back. No worries, though. I used to think that filing for child support would make me a weak woman. I felt like I not only have them but I love and wanted them so they are my responsibility. I have an auto immune disorder and sick or healthy every day I am there for my children and provide them with all of their physical and emotional needs alone. Judge Vonda makes me feel like it shouldn't just be my responsibility and that it might even make me a stronger woman and better mother standing up for us demanding support from their father so they may have the life they deserve. I just have to get strong enough to take that step.

My son's mom took off about a month after he was born, and I was 21, working as a janitor for 7.25/hr. 10 years of her showing up to a few birthday parties and dropping off Christmas gifts was and continues to be quite a task. But, it's created a bond between my son and I that is like no other! It all comes down to how much you are willing to sacrifice for your child...

Yea great he won. But is she never gets a job or hides from him that she has a job he will never get the help he needs to take care of his kids.

My Ex sent my youngest back to me because he was a handful (I did straighten him out in the end) and she didn't want to deal with him while she partied. So, my other two were over 18 and out of child services and all I had were the payments for him, and when she sent him up I naively thought she would cancel the child support payments because she gave me custody. I can tell you it was no party, she had spoilt him. He was 14 and his attitude towards keeping his room clean, clothes in the wash and just generally keeping the place tidy was sadly lacking. He was failing 8th grade and had been kicked out of 4 schools that I knew of. I told him when he first got up to me that I was well known in the town and that there is nothing he can do that I will not find out about before lunch time I also asked him every time he wanted me to clean and cook and pick up after him that "Do I look like I have tits, or Do I look like I'm wearing a dress, and another do I look like your mother." I told him he was old enough and ugly enough to pull his own weight around the house. I knew all his teachers and I knew when he had assignments that needed to be handed in. Anyway, I stopped paying child support naturally and after almost 18 months they decided to send out a couple of officers to get me to get back to paying because my ex had complained that I had stopped. I told the child services officers that I now had my son and didn't think I needed to keep paying. They told me that as far as they knew my ex had the son and I was going to be taken to court if I didn't go back to paying. I held up my finger and said, just wait one second. I called my son and he came to the door. I indicated to him to tell these nice officers who he was and he told them that he was the son they were arguing about. They asked him how long he had been with me and he told them about a year and a half. The officers shook their heads, apologised and promptly left telling me they'll sort it out. This is where all my ex-wife's chickens came home to roost. I got a call from her, I had never had a phone call from her unless she was taking me back to court and she was rubbing it in that she could do as she pleased. Well this call was totally different. She screamed at me for telling child services that she didn't have our son. In addition they stopped all payments to her and fined her $3000 for making false representation to child support. I told her I got $500 from child support and that just about gave her a conniption fit. Mamma grizzly was not happy. ME, I went out a celebrated. That was the last I heard from her and although I lost a lot of battles with her over the years, I ended up winning the war. She died 3 years ago from Cirrhosis of the liver and kidney failure and I'm sure she had hep B and C. Her lifestyle wasn't conducive to good health. Once she got rid of our youngest she went off the rails from what I have been told and no one could get her to stop. No one would tell me how she contracted Hep C. I have my theories! It matters not to me now, I have my children (3)and grandchildren ((9) around me and I'm having the time of my life.
