How do we get rid of handshake issues? TV box, AVR, HDMI extender to HDMI extender with Cat5e, projector.

Hi, although Handshake issues are more rare these days when using new displays, there are still some old devices and display's out there though having problems. Can I get the kit with Tx (transmit) and Rx (Receive) but do not use the TX (transmit) end just plug in the ethernet to back of my ""device"" which would be a graph" that has a ethernet port out. then use the other adapter labeled ( RX receiving ) plug that into the ethernet end and that gives you HDMI then plug that in to the TV will that work to mirror the image from the graph to the TV or do both and have to be hooked up to the cat

say i want to try to get my tablet to see my dvr using the hdmi but the run is 30 to 40 ft so i looked at these adapters. a single cat5 extender and the double cat5 adapter i don't know how to add pictures but ebay has them when searching hdmi over cat 5 they are blue or black devices. any chance you can tell me if these will let me view the data on my dvr recorder like i can over wifi using my app for viewing the cameras?

Hi Bob. HDMI extenders simply extend the HDMI signal longer distances due to the limitations of standard HDMI cables (which have a max reach of 50 ft). The only way to access/view DVR content is through the menu of the DVR box or, like you mentioned, through the app your service provider offers via the internet. The reason you won’t be able to view your DVR on your tablet with HDMI extenders/cables is because both those devices only have HDMI “outputs.” Like a TV, you will need an HDMI “input” to be able to display content on it.

I ran a Cat 6 in my basement and it was eaten by mice or a mouse. I ran a new line in a metal flex conduit to a metal junction box.

Is it true that too short of a distance also prevents an extender from working? I'm working with cat5e cables in my wall and I'm going 25ft from projector to the out source

Hello Shanaya, no, that should not be an issue. Make sure the Extender does not require CAT6, but even so at that distance any CAT5e and up cable should work fine. Sounds like you have a different issue going on, bad connector, electrical interference or a EDID / Resolution conflict. So, VLC is a program for capturing Video and Audio over the LAN. What is your source? To capture Video and Audio over the LAN you require a compatible Network protocol like ONVIF or NDI using H.264/H.265/MPEG-4/MJEP formats. Your source must offer one of these protocols in order to be captured by VLC. You cannot use a HDBaseT transmitter without the receiver as it using a Hard line to send the signal.

BZB Express TV Hi thank your very much for your replay, I want to use the extender (sender) as encoder to get image/audio from my satellite decoder on my pc, it is possible ? I know that the extender use an UDP ip to send hdmi source to the extender(receiver) but I dont know if It easy to get this UDP address from any extender brand :/

@@nostalgicdude Hi, I do not believe so, however this has never been tested since it is designed to work together as a pair and not with other coders. You may purchase the pair and try it out. If it does not work we offer a return policy for at least 30 days. Thanks for your questions!

Instead of running long HDMI cable from closet to TV, could I use this option: Go from my cat 5e jack behind my TV to HDMI extender. I would need a short cat5e cable to HDMI extender and a short HDMI cable from extender to TV. In my closet, use a second extender plugging in male ending from wall jack to extender, use short HDMI cable to receiver? Basically, all of my speaker wires are already ran to the closet, so I want to avoid fishing an HDMI through the ceiling if I can. Possible ption 2: I also have a coax cable jack behind the TV. If there were some sort of HDMI adapter that could screw on to that to run short HDMI to tv and then use a second adapter for coax cable in closet to run a short HDMI cable to receiver. Need help with my surround sound haha

Hi T K, It is possible to utilize the Cat5 wall jacks for an extender, but your mileage may vary. The quality of the terminations at the wall plate can have a negative impact on the signal, but many people have no issues with this sort of a configuration. We also sell extenders that will send a signal over coaxial cable.
