LS2 heads don't flow as well as LS3 or the current LT1 heads. Next mod, heads? I own a stock, except the CAI 2005 LS2 Pontiac GTO 6-speed, fun car! :)

Does the dyno guy not know that you put it in sport mode and manual shift it????
@recheveste315 жыл бұрын
That seems about right, your mods contribute to 30+ hp/tq gain! Also a reminder to viewers is that this is from a DynoJet. 350 HP /350 Tq are stock numbers 374 HP/377 TQ to the wheels 430HP/433 TQ to the crank (the numbers were from a 15% drive train loss calculation. )
@HookedOnVettes5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment!!! How does the DynoJet affect the numbers? Does is typically result in lower than actual hp reading? or higher?
@recheveste315 жыл бұрын
@@HookedOnVettes For sure, keep up the good content! Yes, the DynoJet show higher numbers than a Mustang Dyno. Each dyno has their own method of horse power rating. In general , the Mustang Dyno will read 8% lower than what a DynoJet . It really humbles people hahaha. A good video to look into is " 2019 Hellcat Redeye Dynojet and Mustang Dyno Comparison by Livernois Motorsports! " youtube

I have an 06 ls2 and I’m making 400whp with a cam only and headers. I feel I should be making more with a cam.

Except for the las 45 seconds of non useful wasted time it was Great content. Even better he got right to point without added film clips and content about personal BS. Many KZfaqrs fail to realize if we want content on a C6 we do not wanna hear about the dog or the lawn ect.

Manual transmission?

Internet claims.
@DovrDovr-rh7pd3 жыл бұрын
I think his is just harder to tune because its a 4 speed transmission and its "automatic" that's why i recommend getting stick shift or 2006 and up! After 2005 they made them with a 6 speed transmission and came with paddle shifters those automatics are more easy to tune.
@z5123454 жыл бұрын
Are you going to address the rear differential?? It is GM's bastard child, very week design and prone to explode.
@John-qz4cv4 жыл бұрын
If its a auto you should have paddle shifting put it into sport mode it should stay in gear or atleast mine does.

First of vow this your first words of the hp of that corvette is wrong. The 6.0 from factory is rated at 400hp. In the car wrhp that car will do 370hp with factory settings. Learn LS engines before you talk about them.
@HookedOnVettes4 жыл бұрын
rbranch713 with all due respect rbranch713 you are incorrect, but thank you for the advice. I will continue to know the LS engine before I speak. Let me know and I can point you to some online resources with which you may want to reference before critiquing others. Have a blessed evening.

Sir I am a engine specialist. Do you know how Chevy came up with 400hp out that 6.0? Do me a favor take that tune out your vette. Long tube headers alone would have put you over 400hp easy. Stop using them tune that’s not from gm. Chevy performance have what you need when it come to LS. Before these engines are put in these vehicles they are dyno. When engine specialist dyno these engine they have long tube and cfm on them. When coming from production line, they put regular manifold intake and exhaust manifold on the engine which drop hp on them. When they say the car is rated at 400hp that what the engine do in the lab with no body or drivetrains on it. Also with full performance parts.

@@rbranch713 What headers do you recommend me to buy for a LS2 C6 2005 vette? Right now I have Borla S exhaust and a K&M intake, mostly stock. Car drives great and I enjoy it. Just don't know what next to get. I would like to keep the car driveable and NA. So if I get a cam Id like one I can live with and not have a bit of hesitation at low rpm at a light.
@Simple_Youtube4 жыл бұрын
@@MrMittenshasatophat get a FAST 102 intake manifold first. Then think about long tubes. You can use the Z06 factory headers. But long tubes melt things like the starter and engine mounts so think about it. As for the cam, it's an expensive install so save that for last since you will need to spec it to your upgraded.
@rbranch7134 жыл бұрын
@Tim Smith sir you do realize it’s a 5.7 and 6.0 LS2? The 5.7 is rated at 400hp and the 6.0 is rated at 430hp so what are we talking about here?
