That Peterbilt is an absolutely gorgeous tractor. Kevin did a superb job on the frame. It looks beautiful. PPG paint is the best, I sold the industrial line, the automotive products are a different line. Nice to see someone taking great care of their equipment!!!

PPG is alright, it’s right up there with Glasurit. It’s a hell of a lot better than Martin Senour and a little better than DuPont, but I’m partial to Sikkens. Been spraying it for about 35yrs now and you can’t beat the color matching, the clear, the service and the training. But then waterborne bases came along which IMO are shitte. From what I’ve heard from other painters they have the same problems with most all the waterborne brands. But I’m an old school painter and I love my solvent based paints.

Wow! You guys really do amazing work! I’ve been watching for a couple months now and I’m always impressed with your work ethic and the excellent work you do. I was taught about 45 years ago from my uncle who had his own trucking service and he showed me the proper way to remove the oil drain plug without spilling a drop on the floor or on my hands. You did it the same way. Not to many people know how to do that. I see guys with oil running down their arms and I could never figure that out. Keep doin your thing!

Love the 6NZ! We ran many KWs and Petes threw out the years. IMO nothing beats a 3406E or C15 Single Turbo 6NZ.

You can get a TPE 5th wheel plate for less than the cost of the grease your using, but then Kevin would not be able to draw pictures. 😄

Super Clean. Your Peterbilt is looking fantastic! I noticed you didn't mention your brakes. How often do you have to do brakes? Just wanted to say that your family is awesome. I respect that you take time to teach your sons and have them work with you. They are both skilled and am happy to see them working with you and learning. Nice to watch you and Mrs. C and hear the proud mom and dad talking about Tucker and Hunter. Keep up the amazing videos and I enjoy the wide variety of content.

I miss my '99 379 Peterbilt with the 550 Cat with an 18 speed!! I would haul everything with it! I used to eat up Fancy Gap in Virginia and would burn up that left lane empty! My trailer was a triple axle 53' low boy!! Seeing you work on your truck brings back memories!! and my 379 was lit up like a Christmas tree. Lights under the cab all blue florescent tubs thru out the inside of the cab, sleeper lights air cleaner lights and just about every light you could get for that truck and then some!! You have a beautiful truck! Mine was Burgandy in color and alot of chrome also!!

I have used Super Clean for many years now. There has been a few things Super Clean has not worked well but over all they are OK. It did take me a while to find it where i live in Canada. I have just tried the spay cleaner. I will have to find the foam cleaner and try that out.

Truck looks awesome my dad was very particular on how clean his truck was and he was always working on it and cleaning it. I’d say it was the cleanest truck in town. Great job guys it looks awesome

Anti-seize on the studs is OK as long as you use a lubed / greased stud torque value. A greased stud will spin farther than dry with equal torque values. Bolt tightening is actually - How much you stretch the fastener (yes even a 6" reactor head stud stretches when tightened). If you use the dry torque on a lubed fastener you risk stretching the bolt beyond the plastic point which will weaken or break a bolt. Put a 1/2" bolt in a vice and try to break it. The greased bolt breaks easier. Sorry for the long wind, too many years in a power station. Thanks for great videos.

Love your video. When I greased my fifth wheel, I would spread on lower half, then drop air bags as I was hooking up and get it spread really well. Also might want to move your pigtale cord. Dot doesn't like them lying on the catwalk. Enjoy guys

FYI: You can eliminate 90% of the grease on the 5th wheel by using a low friction disc since you are hooked to the same trailer all the time.

Treat your equipment right w/ good maintenance and it will serve you well. Better than being broke down somewhere on the road. Youcan't catch everything--but a good service and inspection will find a lot.

Kevin the tallest 5'9"you ever saw at the max filling the washer fluid tank.I took notice that your Peterbilt doesn't have the grease fittings bracket on the left side frame rail for all the fittings at the transmission.I drove a 2006 and it had that feature which was really handy.

The swamper at the local freight hauler used to sign the 5th wheels with "Bob was here" with the grease gun. That indicated that every zerk was done and took grease. The Pete looks great!

Super cleaned the block of my old 86 Dodge D-100 with only 76,000 original miles and it looks brand new. Since I saw you clean the wheels I've got a set of wheels on my PT Cruiser that need to be cleaned as well. Thanks for the channel Clint, you and Kevin and matt and Hunter really do things right. I've tried to teach my Grandsons to do it right the first time, that way you won't be looking backwards waiting for it to catch up with you. Lover the Channel KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK GUYS!!!

Nice rig. Some cautions on using Superclean I've learned over the years: Don't soak aluminum parts in Superclean. Prolonged contact will slowly desolve them. Don't wash your tires with Superclean. The black stuff that comes out of them is a U.V. protectant from the factory and will shorten their lives.

Great Video of one very cool truck! I think what always appeals, is a start and completed job whether its bulldozers, trucks, diggers etc. including bringing those tired old machines back into working condition. The fact you do things methodically, cleanly, precisely and always in an immaculate well set up workshop, - is the icing on the cake!

The mechanics at Consolidated Freightways in Richfield OH used a wooden paddle in a grease bucket to smear it on and smooth it out. All I did was rebuild the grease pumps when they failed.

Should have removed the fifth wheel painted the frame & the bottom of the fifth wheel you can always find some rust between the frame rails & the plate

Super Clean. Per TIA, hub pilot should recieve 30 weight oil on the studs and nuts for hub pilot wheels.

I'm surprised the folks at May Wes Manufacturing have not convinced you to try a poly 5th Wheel plate. The JC Whitney was the Sears Christmas catalog for the gearheads. The Big Rig looks great!
