I feel like your experience as a player in this game has brought you full circle from learning how to play with limited intersections toward learning how to play with several intersections just as the game was basically designed by the devs. I remember back in your early videos you would teach the figure 8 blocks with the granary as your only intersection.

Yes, and I still like that design very much, but these custom maps have been more and more demanding with regards to how I can design cities for them, so I've had to get comfortable with unorthodox intersectioned blocks and just having to deal with it. It's good though. This game wouldn't have lasting appeal to me if there was a one size fits all method to making housing blocks.

@@DDRJake Yes I very much like that the maps force you to improvise outside of standard strategies. I also feel like it makes everything feel like a real city with character. I rather like it.

Yes, Cannae was August 216 BC, so only a year before. Lake Trasimene was June 217. Not a happy time for Rome.

Is there reason to you are not using any shortcut keys? It makes game much more enjoyable. I personally use every shortcut key I can but you can assign basic things like "delete" "copy cursor building" "road" etc.

Years of muscle memory, it will take a lot for me to overcome that and remember to use hotkeys.

1:21:12 Why does raising wages help keep the unemployed happy? It's not like they're benefiting from it. Unless the implication of that by raising wages the unemployed are more likely to steal from the employed than the city treasury?

Changes taxes also affects the happiness of the untaxed, it's a simplification in an old game.
