One thing that jumped off the screen. She's SOLID - no one is moving her in the post. Yes - soft hands, great touch and seemingly good IQ, but she looks STRONG. I see her being an "enforcer" on a team seemingly devoid of "tough girls."

Twice in her career Dantas has shoot over 39% from 3 while taking 4.1 attempts. She is great! This Team had no depth at the 4/5 when Temi got injured but now they have Boston, Smith, Temi and Dantas which is a solid rotation to have at the 4 and 5

Good point. Lexie's got great potential but, I think she's gotta continue to play with confidence and be aggressive. Given her slight frame, she has to take advantage of her quickness, athleticism and length, which seems to show itself more when she's confident and on the move.

As long as Dantas is catching Caitlin's passes and drilling buckets, it's all good. When you look at Saxton sitting at the end of the bench every game, you wonder what she's doing there. Celeste Taylor had some solid defensive credentials. So yeah, it made no sense to waive Taylor, at least from a personnel sense. Makes me wonder if it wasn't more of a locker room thing.

“Caitlin Clark is the system” 💯
@TheJhtlag
@TheJhtlag 8 күн бұрын
Yeah, I liked that. There's so much weird stuff going on with this team you wonder if there hadn't been a competition for who's system the team plays by, maybe Sides didn't want to "lose" the team but I think this statement is the fundamental starting point for the Fever. Now just watch as players get comfortable with the ball appearing in their hands and knowing they need to do something with it now. Even folks like N. Smith need to re-think their though patterns when CC puts the ball in hands for an easy layup. Someone like Dontas may be more useful b/c she can catch the ball and is probably at the right place versus someone who is quicker but you don't know where she'll be. Anyway, yes, Caitlyn Clark is the system, work from there.

If she can hit shots Caitlin will find her. The Fever do not run much in a game. I rather have Dantas on the floor over Wallace or Wheeler. Besides when Fagbenle plays Dantas will not get many minutes. I want to see if she can bang with Reese and other forwards. She has 6 fouls and she has size. If she can continue to catch the ball she has value.

Celeste Taylor did not get an opportunity on this team. I was hoping someone would have picked her by now. In fairness Celeste would have been cut in the preseason if Dantas was healthy. Wheelers and Mitchell's 222k & 206k contracts has made them untradeable. I would stay with Mitchell as long as she is playing team ball. Wheeler plays when CC is taking a break hopefully.

Dantas really didn't get any energetic passes in yesterday's game against the Liberty. I think her worth, though, is also in her experience. Despite Caitlin being the leader of this team, she will benefit from having a few seasoned veterans who can give some of that experience through osmosis. The verdict's still out on her being able to catch Caitlin's urgent passes.

@@mkmstillstackin Agreed but considering all the guards the team has I think she is not necessary for the team. @mkmstillstackin
@mkmstillstackin 8 күн бұрын
@@jinku77 I think you're right about the Fever already having it's fair share of guards and therefore Berger being better off on a team in need of depth at that position. With just a tweak of the roster here and there, the Fever can be a consistent playoff team. IMHO, AB, Smith, Fagbenle have good athleticism, NOT gun shy to physicality, and are bonding with CC… they need a system to incorporate screens for shooters, cutters and big to bigs. Katie Lou and Hull have skills and high bball IQ , and all those aforementioned players have shown capability of learning systems at college championship levels. I would like to see the Fever drop a Wallace or Wheeler and pick up Nika Muhl, a capable ball handler , passer, top notch defender and has an obvious rapport and mutual respect with Clark.

On a routine game getting subbed in & out by Coach Sides, Caitlin cannot even rack-up a single Double-Double'. But, then if she & the team are tasked to play for 'play-off' viability, then she could gain 4-5 more 'triple-doubles' while CC is in 'Wonder-Woman-Mode'. Wonder-Woman-Mode causes her to become the needed 'floor general' who is in a one-way lane to 'out-score' the other team. Dantas's ability to score on a fast transition will be critical, going forward. NOTE: So, only the infinite wisdom of 'grifter coach' Sides can stand in the way of Wonder-Woman's MO. NOTE" NYC & AZ were not in their element when forced to play defense on a fast-moving stampeded type=transition generated from WW's MO.

My problem with you is you have no clue what's going on behind the scenes n make comments like that you're clueless on why things are done. Maybe Celeste Taylor wasn't good shooting at practices, maybe she wasn't a locker room fit, maybe she wasn't hustling during practices, maybe they felt another player was better for Clark to have as a weapon to pass to, there could be a million reasons your clueless bout to why she was released. For ya to blame a coach for a players release also shows your idioticness, how do ya know it wasn't the owner or the general manager that made that decision, for you to just blame coach Sides goes to the narrative everything that goes against fan approval is coach Sides fault. Christy Sides is a coach NOT general manager or team owner, they may ask for her input but releasing a player is ultimately the general manager n owners call not the coaches.
