Pee Wee house received the fence and basketball hoop from the set builders. They still stand!!The tops of the fence are termite damaged so Mr.Guerro cut away the damaged area with a skilsaw, the reason they now dip a little. He made 750 dollars for 3 days. 2 prep and one film. 250 per day.

Saying that the fence is still standing is being extremely generous in your evaluation.

When I arrived at the License to Drive house, the owner was outside. She allowed me to record some footage from the driveway. Sometimes I get caught up in the moment and forget to mention certain things. When I arrived to the BttF house, the next door neighbor politely asked me to not make noise or go on their property. I respected her request and remained on the sidewalk. She also gave me some copies of behind-the-scenes production photos that I will share in a Future video.

The 80's for me was by far the best decade for great "original" films, so many classics in all genres......now just superhero movies and crappy remakes....Hollywood have ran out of ideas now....but luckily for us you haven't nick....great video mate😁🍻🇬🇧👍

I couldn’t agree more! Thanks so much Paul, you’re the man!
@goatcheese4me
@goatcheese4me 3 жыл бұрын
I disagree. Hollywood has plenty of new ideas. The problem is no one goes and sees them. Look back (before Covid of course) and look through weekly top 10s. There's always about 2-4 titles that came out that never grossed a lot. They are new ideas, new stories, with decent to good Hollywood stars. No one goes to see them anymore because, now, for the average movie-goer it's a bigger gamble to spend $30-$50 going to the movies and no one wants to gamble on an unknown movie that isn't trending. What is familiar, what is known -- remakes, superheroes -- feels like a less of a gamble. Those movies make the money, and the studios ensure to have those in their slate of movies throughout the year, but they still gamble on the new ideas in case one hits a HR.
@NickP
@NickP 3 жыл бұрын
@@goatcheese4me Def a lot of truth to that… Studios now just want to bank on a sure thing. A lot of good and fresh ideas that are simply not getting put out for reasons you described. Back in the 80s things cost less. And it is not even with inflation. In other words, what costed 3 to 10 bucks back in the 80/90s does not match what you have to spend to do the same thing in today’s theater experience. 50 bucks or more, it’s crazy. That’s what is really ruining the industry more than anything.
@spookyencounters9392
@spookyencounters9392 3 жыл бұрын
@@goatcheese4me But wasn't a sure thing hit movie in the 80s just a movie thst starred a popular actor, such as Michael J Fox? If you wack a trailer on tv a few times a day for the movie and it has a cool, popular song on it and you see "See, Michael J Fox in...." people would show up. Didn't matter too much what the movie was about. I dunno, the 80s was just different, better. And they shot on film reels back then . The movies looked cooler, more epic because of that. Nowadays they look like they're shot on suped up IPhones . Gone is the film look. Gone is the feeling. But yeah, mostly the problem is just God damn CGI fest comic book movies every which way ya turn 😑 I wonder if anyone could ever create something of the same level as Back To the Fiture again.
@goatcheese4me
@goatcheese4me 3 жыл бұрын
@@spookyencounters9392 80s movies relied heavily on story/narrative while still highlighting the popular actor (like Michael J Fox). Most big budget movies now focus on CGI, which in my opinion diminishes the quality of the movie, even with a plethora of A-list actors. It may be flashy, but the story is often weak and filled with plot holes.

Oh I can see the allure of Cali, beautiful...I am really digging Pasadena and south Pasadena,,(loved the Halloween streets plus the Van Halen family are from Pasadena...houses have a look of the east but with west styles ( stucco,etc)...wish my family left southeast suburbs of Detroit to move there when it was actually affordable...we have some cool ass housing here too nice brick bungalows,but something about Cali man.👍

Thanks a lot Dave.. I’m a fan of that movie. You want to laugh? I was in San Fran recently and I didn’t have enough time to visit the Pacific Heights neighborhood. I wanted to go the house pretty badly, but I did get a good amount of other footage. I will def visit in the future.

I was on the set of License to Drive and watched different scenes filmed while a film student in college. Most of the scenes were shot around Beverly Hills, they had a scene where the hubcap pops off a tire, that took several takes. Probably rode my bike by Pee Wee's house a dozen times.

Wonderful job NickP! I live in So. Pas. As you know, there are a lot of locations here. So. Pas. High School on Fremont was used in "Halloween" too. The house from "Family" is on Milan in the neighborhood behind So. Pas junior high--now middle school. Really effective editing, great comparing shots and just enough time at each. Enjoyed this. Much appreciated.

My grandparents moved to Los Angeles in 1920. In the 30s they purchased a house at 111 S. Norton. This location was used for many films. Three stooges, lost dog episode. Dog tag read 111 S. Norton so they went there. Sound techs also came in and made recordings of our grandfather clock. The location was used up to the 80s.

Great video as always and thanks for sharing. I'm curious if all house owners know that they live at a filming location because new owners could live there. I wish you all the best and looking forward to the next video.

Thanks a lot Thomas! I know the people who own BttF, Pee Wee Herman and The Wonder Years know for sure. Some of them are now historical landmarks, even if they weren’t movie people they would know for that reason. Not just seeing people like me pop up from time to time lol. Most of them enjoy it and go out of their way for visitors. Like Bianca who lives at the Stroud House (Jamie Lee Curtis) from Halloween. She took a pick of me on the wall with a pumpkin on my lap, that she provides every year for people who visit. Amazing LOL. Also, I can confirm if the owner of the License to Drive house didn’t know, they do now. They were outside when I pulled up and were cool with me walking on the property.
