I imagine it must’ve been tight for the cast and crew during filming of the barber shop scenes. It looked small in there.

I believe that the Panama Hotel building was also used in the Terminator movie for the "Buddy, you got a dead cat in there, or what? scene as well as for the arm and eye surgery after crashing into the wall scene.

Thanks for doing this. It is fun to see how things have changed over 30 years later. Hard to believe it’s been that long. I don’t know how you managed to even find some of these places and make the connection to the movie. Cool video, especially since I grew up in southern CA.

Hello Nick (: I'm Josh from Germany. It's a very nice video and interesting too. I've just finished watching the whole series. Can you tell me if the interior scenes were shot in this house or if they used a separate sound stage for it? Thanks in advance for your answer. Best regards, Josh

There is a photo somewhere on the Internet of when they were constructing the quarter moon windows over the actual windows of the house in toms River New Jersey, so that they could make it look exactly like the actual Amityville house. I forget where on the Internet that iimage is but, it is in fact on the Internet. It’s a pretty cool photo though.

The murders were real but the possession story isn't. It was made up by Ronald Defeo's lawyer as a last-ditch effort for a defense. Defeo admitted to this in a prison interview before his death. The lawyer tricked the new homeowners into a gag order to never reveal it. The lawyer owned the rights to the story and made millions. So, Amityvill is basically a movie hoax. It's not a true story.

The first film had an atmosphere that the second does not have and vice versa. The first was darker, more "punk", almost cyberpunk. Dirtier, maybe even more threatening because the person protecting Sarah was only human.
