I just bought in Sac and I was telling my friend how I was surprised that the home insurance is $1,640 a year when I thought $1,200 was the average in Sac. Then she told me in Richarson Texas near Dallas her home insurance is $5k a year and I was like damn. Our houses are the same square footage.

Yeah, I’m a nurse and I’ve mentioned this in comments on this channel before but I make over double what I’d make in most other states as an RN. NorCal, and even more specifically Sac area, is the best spot in the country for nurses IMO- best pay, stated mandated patient ratios, we actually get breaks in CA, etc.

Working with traveling nurse this is very accurate the law here are setup for better care and ratio nurse per patient. The caseload on other state are non-existent plus it break heart you see patient carried on the street in a wheelchair Bec they don't have ability to pay immediate care

I’m a 3 gen Sacramentan, moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma right before I turned 30. I have been here for almost 9 years and it’s the worse decisions of my life! Yes it’s definitely cheaper here, but the negatives have far outweighed the pros. The weather is terrible most of the time! Not only is the Food awful, the infrastructure is awful, and there isn’t anywhere to go. I moved here due to my wife, who I met and married in Sac, being from here. I left all my family back in Sac, but I was able to graduate my kids from high school. I would be one of those that want to move back. Not for the taxes or insane laws, but it’s my home and always will be, the bad and the good.

Many people get caught in the "Texas Trap" by not thoroughly analyzing the situation. They're drawn by job opportunities, more affordable homes, and no state income tax. However, they often overlook Texas' high property taxes. In some cases, it might be more beneficial to live in a state with high income tax, where you can lower your taxable income through deductions and contributions to retirement accounts like 401Ks. Property taxes, you're stuck with regardless of income and the bill is more challenging/time consuming to reduce. Texas has its perks, but it's worth considering other states.

spent time in Houston and Dallas and not a fan of Texas. Weather sucks and prices have skyrocketed on real estate so not all that it is cracked up to be. Same with Florida. Grew up in Sacramento and lived all over California and while San Diego and Santa Barbara are my favorite cities in the state, I was already priced out decade ago in those places and Sacramento has good jobs and I was able to buy on lower salary.

@@SacramentoRealEstate The population of Texas has more than tripled in my lifetime. There are suburban counties outside the large cities in which the majority of the adult population is from out of state.
