I'm the same age as you Anthony and I thought I was strong, what you have achieved is beyond me. For 2024 I was contemplating joining a climbing gym, my son took me down last night and today I feel like I have been run over by a truck, its very inspiring and works muscles I did not know I had!

Mike, that really made me smile and reminded me of my first day at a climbing gym. It certainly uses muscles you didn’t know you had. I’m sure you’ll thank your son for that! It will get easier, even at our age. Just be careful, and don’t forget that some of the walls are quite high and we don’t bounce off the floor like youngsters do!

Your an inspiration I’ve managed to stop drinking and found a new job as I was stagnating in my old one. I’ve got some weights and various dumbbells and a squat rack and have used it every day for the last 3-4 weeks. I really have had a reality check as I’m now 59 and I can see some improvement already in my mobility and strength. As a younger man I always kept fit but life gets in the way and let it slide but I’m back on track now for a fitter healthier lifestyle in 2024 and stumbling on your videos has been the biggest inspiration so thank you 🙏🏻

6 hours pass christmass eve I was the only soul awake in the park sweating like a pig, working on my rings. The 2023 I've achieved 50 decline rings pushups within an 5 km run, 3-5 times per week. This year must achieve rings dips (already in negatives) and then, my man goal: 90-95 kgs and my first ring pull up ever.

Well done for your accomplishments in 2023 and hello from Australia. A couple of questions. How many days a week do you train? How did you get to do so many pull-ups in a row. I have been stuck at 15 for about 12 months?
@funwithcalisthenics
@funwithcalisthenics 6 ай бұрын
Hi Mike, I like to train 5 days a week. However, recently I’ve been doing weighted pull-ups, just twice a week, and on the other three, cardio, dips, squats push-ups a cycle ride, or out walking with the dog. If I’m not doing weighted pull-ups, just regular ones, then I’ve found I can train 5 days a week. If you are stuck on 15 pull-ups, I’d recommend you starting doing weighted pull-ups. But give yourself more recovery time. I bet if you did that twice a week, for 6 weeks, then took a week off, then retested your max pull-ups, you will increase your numbers. Good luck in 2024!

@funwithcalisthenics 4 ай бұрын
When I turned 50, I started to put on a little weight, I wasn’t happy. Then I started to date a very fit lady, and I wanted to get in shape to be more like her. Then 6 months into that relationship, I was diagnosed with a rare cancer. There was very little research into that type of cancer, and the prognoses wasn’t good. Fortunately the chemo worked, and I have been cancer free for 3.5 years. However, I need to be as strong as I can, so if the cancer returns, I’ll be in the best physical and mental shape to fight it. That fit lady is now my wife. So a happy ending. 😊. Thats my reason why.

Yes. It's an effective anti-oxidant and cacao will make you skin stronger and more elastic according to Michael Greger. It has saturated fat though.
@VoidedTea
@VoidedTea 6 ай бұрын
Depends on your body. For example, I know it is not a heathy option for me as I am caffeine sensitive and elevated sugar levels in my blood stream elevate my blood pressure as well. So whatever health benefits it may provide are outweighed by the negatives from caffeine contained in cacao and by sugars in the chocolate. So you have to decide for yourself.
