I wish the Camp Chef Mountaineer 2X was compared to the Partner Steel instead.

I think the Partner Steel is completely unnecessary, but mine arrives tomorrow. That thing is so badass.

I've owned two Partner stoves, the first was a custom model they put together for me, the second is the same as your's. They are well worth the money. I picked up a 10 lb aluminum propane tank for $15 at a yard sale and its my go to camping stove set up.

I have many stoves from backpacking to car camping. I desire the Partner Stove but I have the Everest 2 and the best way to cook is not with the knobs wide open. Especially when making Paella, gumbo, chili, bouillabaisse, and spaghetti.

I have the same Partner Steel Stove along with a Bag to carry it in from Blue Ridge Overland Gear. Both were expensive but will last me the rest of my life for sure. Great video.

Ed H. When I was in the market for the blue ridge bag it was not in stock due to them making “revisions” so I just sewed my own😎. not as pretty, but it gets the job done... so far lol. I do still kinda want theirs though it’s a pretty slick looking bag.

I used to work at BROG. I bet I shipped that bag to you.

You do have to be careful when using a griddle on a Partner stove. If you don't allow some room for the heat to escape on the valve side, you can overheat and ruin the valves.. The manifold is a bit of a trick to replace, but you can do that. I really wish that Partner had an alternative higher output burner, but they just have the Primus burners with their low output.
@JsnrRobbins Жыл бұрын
I wish they had one burner that had more output. But if you need more throw it on the partner blaster and that works!

Partner steel stoves look like real nice stoves and I have no experience with them, but the comparison is not so good . I understand you did this with what you have but it’s kind of like comparing apples and rocks . The Partner Steel stove is twice as much money as the camp chef that you have there with half the amount of BTUs per burner and weighs more if weight is important. I did like the review though , maybe someone will send you a Camp Chef Mountaineer 2X stove I think that would be a much better comparison . Thanks for the video Happy Trails

Yep, I mentioned the price difference several times 👍 it’s not a comparison video as much as it is a “is the partner stove worth the extra money” please feel free to watch again!

@@amioverlandingyet_4058 it’s OK I got it . Thanks for the video

How important is all that extra BTU... are we generally needing that much more? I was introduced to Partner from some overlanding fans who rave about its ability to turn down to a simmer. I haven't read up on Camp Chef, so speaking in ignorance... but maybe some folks have highest BTU use case while others need simmer more than max output? Just curious your thoughts. Thx.

@@spoketube your absolutely right some people like to simmer or low boil some like more BTUs . I liked the camp chef for the high BTUs since I was cooking quite a bit of food for groups and I could get the food out quick and everyone could eat together. Perfect for breakfast with a griddle on top bacon , eggs , pancakes, sausage , steaks ,etc . Yet you can turn it down if your going to make gravy and other things that require lower heat settings. Its not a simmer stove . Most everything we make for our trips we pre make if possible , lasagna, chili, soups , marinades, etc. we like getting all the prep work done so we don’t have to do it out camping. As far as simmering I really can’t think of much we eat that has to be simmered and the stuff that does just turn down the burner and move whatever your simmering of the direct heat . Personally I like hot stoves you can always make them cooler , like all cooking you just have to pay attention . No partying when your the cook until your done .

Totally agree! Camp Chef stoves are a bitch to clean. Looking at the partner steel stove and your video was very informative. Thank you.

I have the partner steel stove best money I ever spend and I only camp 3 times a year

How does it simmer? Can it cook with cast iron to make eggs, and slow cook a little? Large corn boil?
@amioverlandingyet_40582 ай бұрын
Simmers decently enough, about as good or better as any camp stove, works as any gas stove does with cast iron which is exceptionally well. Yes for corn boil but would not be as fast as the camp chef. the burners on the camp chef are ridiculously over powered for things like that, camp chef boils water like a freaking beast, then spills everywhere and then you get the challenge of trying to clean it 😅

You're comparing a $400 stove to a $130 stove. If you want to do a real comparison use the camp chef mountaineer.
@amioverlandingyet_40583 жыл бұрын
Yes I believe I mentioned the difference in price several times. Mountaineer was not available at the time of this video. If you would like to buy me one And send it my way I would gladly review all three! 🙃

Isn’t the partner stoves (the box part/lid. made of aluminum.......not steel?
@amioverlandingyet_40584 жыл бұрын
Bob Walker I personally cannot find anywhere on their site that specify any other material except stainless steel?? If you got some more information don’t leave us hanging, post a link😎👍
@bjnslc Жыл бұрын
The company was named long before they got into making mostly aluminum stoves (and camp toilet systems).
@glennthomas4159 Жыл бұрын
You say they’re expensive at $350 to $400. My 18” costed me exactly $500 with an 8 to 10 week wait that I’ 5 weeks into. It better be good and you got yours cheap.
@amioverlandingyet_4058 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, it’s crazy how much they have gone up in price! Don’t worry though Biden just fixed the inflation problem sooooo prices should come down real soon 😏. I hope you like yours! I still love mine!!
@vaughnburrows2 жыл бұрын
$510 now, question is would you buy at that price today?
@amioverlandingyet_40582 жыл бұрын
Whoa that’s a really significant price increase, and a great question. I still love the stove and it is insanely durable (I know from personal experience) I think I still would ?? hard to say, I don’t really look at other options any more it’s the perfect stove for me. I really love how easily it cleans up.
