I'll do the other side tomorrow. If I have enough wall paper I'll redo the passenger side. I have a better idea how to do this now! What's your latest van project?

I’m, adding an off-road lightweight trailer to my project list. Soundproof and vented for a small generator and extra storage. When I’m done I’ll sell it to any of your subscribers for almost zero profit, at this point I’m just having a blast seeing how much you guys enjoy these vans. Keep the content rolling. Thanks

8nstalled front mount hitch, function checked moved a trailer with it, swapped over to the cargo basket and loaded banked it w three 35 lb sacks of crawfish.happy with it so far

Nice! My GF got me a front hitch for Christmas still haven't installed it. Wanted one for another recovery point and a winch spot. Did you take the whole bumper off to install it or did you use the wire method?

I did a similar project using hardboard. It has a similar thickness to cardboard, but more rigidity that prevents creasing

Reflectix at home depot or lowe’s or similar store then either use the fake wood or spray glue some fabric and the reflectix is a good insulator to keep out heat or retain heat. I made them for all of my windows and they are wont deteriorate with moisture.

Definitely going to try reflectix next. This was a inexpensive trial run if I can do this decently. It's one of those things I will do it better a second attempt . As soon as the cardboard starts degrading I'll take another crack at this with reflectix. Now I have the templates. Appreciate the feedback

@@JohnDrivesAnything with the reflectix, cut it big and slowly trim. You want the reflectix to be bigger because it tucks in really nice and will stay put. Friction fit or whatever. I hope that makes sense.

This is a trial run. I wanted to create a template and see how I like the look. I like it but want a shade lighter on the fake wood. Once it starts falling apart from all the heat/cold/humidity cycles I'll redo this with reflectix instead of cardboard since I have templates now.

Ha, I had that same issue with that weird plastic corner. My homemade window cover would pop out of it, I ended up putting a tiny clip on it. Mine make a huge difference on blocking the heat of the sun! Ironically, I simply put reflectix with nothing else on the window behind the driver's seat & without the coroplast on it, it remains warmer. The back side windows with it on make a difference. Now, the real question is, can we NOT work on the van just for one day! 😂 🤣 I'm constantly messing around with mine. Testing the CB set for the road. Got a soft sided cooler to store the Bluetti in, etc. Still trying to find an air conditioner solution to boondocking in humidity...

This is a test run to get a proper template. I'll see how long cardboard and wall paper last in constant heat and cold cycles. Once It starts falling apart I will do this again but stick the wall paper on refletix instead. I do like the wood wall look. All these videos I been doing on vans for sale wood walls is eye catching, I even seen someone use brick wallpaper and it also looked good. Everyday we are all atleast brainstorming an idea for our vans or day dreaming about the next trip lol. It's ugly but it looks like window AC is the best way to go!

I use an AC unit built as a standup in indoor and vented out of a window. I vented it through the floor of my van. Mine is an 8,000. BTU, but they are now making smaller units. Also painting your roof gloss white is a definite plus. A palm sander, primer and can of brush on Rustoleum (clear gloss topcoat is a plus.)

A 5000btu window unit will fit in rear windows. I used a piece of sheet metal i shaped the sa,e as window I removed, cut out a spot for the ac , works well easily removed also. I'm considering putting it in the door, left rear.
