You can replicate what Byran Johnson is trying to achieve by doing these things: 1. Make it a goal to add a wide variety of many fruit, veggies, legumes, whole grains, nuts and seeds to your diet 2. Don't smoke or drink 3. Be active regularly 4. Work on eliminating stress in your life and try to get a good amount of sleep every night You can probably add a decade to your life just by doing these four things and you don't have to spend 2 million dollars a year

For sure! I know it’s just anecdotal evidence, but my Dad does all these things (eliminating stress is difficult at times, he works a lot, but he still manages to get some time to just relax most days) - and even though he’s over 50 now, he’s regularly mistaken for being in his 30s and he’s healthy. His father on the other hand was a workaholic, was never really active, drinks for every dinner, and prefers to eat sugary food. He’s definitely not healthy at all since years and he’s just lucky that he’s almost 90. Yeah, I know, they aren’t representative, but they always showed me that it’s not just genes that determine how we age and how healthy we are, but that healthy habits are so important. That’s both a warning and very motivating for me.

I was just reading about this guy, and one thing that I find striking is that despite his efforts he looks older than his age. Yes he's fit, slender and muscular, but being in my mid 40s myself, I can say he looks older than most 45-46 year-olds I hang out with. There's something about his face that looks gaunt, despite his skin being smooth and even (about that, I'd bet my next paycheck he's had botox, if not a partial face lift). So I'm definitely not tempted to follow his anti-aging advice...

I love your videos and your whole outlook on health and nutrition is so refreshing and has changed my life so much I can not thank you enough. !!!TRIGGER WARNING FOR ED AND RELATIONSHIPS!!! Now I know you might not see this but I don’t know who to turn to or ask about this, but my mom is someone who is wanting to loose weight and keep it off, so I’ve tried teaching her what I’ve learned from you and she is starting to get on board. However, her partner is on the other side of the scale where he doesn’t want/ care to loose weight and only eats what he likes. The problem? He is a “picky/ finicky” eater. He not only refuses to eat any vegetables or fruits or anything like that. But he is also the type to add a whole stick of butter and a whole 8 oz. Bag of cheese to refried beans, and cups of sugar to the only whole veggie he’ll eat, green beans. I don’t think that the foods he it’s is inherently bad obviously, but his meals are anything but balanced. Also he is the one who make most of there meals. I don’t know what to tell my mom who is trying to not be triggered by diet culture, but also wants a sustainable diet when she has almost no control what she eats for her meals and when she does she has to pull back on the nutrition to fulfill his likes and dislikes. I don’t know if she just needs to start preparing “add ins” to the meals that he prepares so she can at least get more nutrition that she also enjoys eating or if this is just a sign of a toxic relationship. I’m kinda stuck.😢

I think Bryan only seems super special compared to most people who are not living anywhere near as healthy a life. Attributing his health to all the pills and tests, would be more understandable if everyone else was eating a healthy diet, getting enough rest and exercise, etc… and they were still falling way behind him in their overall health. I wonder what would happen if people just had the ability to get more vegetables in their diet, sleep more and workout how they would compare to him?
@Diana-qp2rw
@Diana-qp2rw 5 ай бұрын
Exactly! My Dad has always been exercising and eating an overall healthy diet with lots of vegetables and not much alcohol (and no supplements) and he regularly gets mistaken for being in his 30s when in reality he’s in his 50s. That’s not because he looks so much younger than he is (he’s lucky to still have full hair, though, I guess), it’s because most people don’t have these healthy habits and we’re used to seeing people who look older than they are.

I don’t have to spend millions of dollars trying to this. My thought, I don’t try adding years to my life, I add life to my years. 1. Nutrition: I eat a diet rich in fruits & vegetables. Complex carbs like whole grain bread, beans, oats, and potatoes. Healthy fats like avocados, chia seeds. nuts, butter, and olive oil. And healthy proteins like chicken, fish, eggs, and some red meat. I try to avoid ultra processed and refined foods as much as possible as well as I limit fast food. I also practice intermittent fasting, last meal is at 7:30 pm and I don’t eat anything for 12-13 hours. No alcohol or smoking either. 2. Exercise, I do resistance training such as weight lifting and cardio exercises such as walking, running on the treadmill, or group classes. 3. Mental health: I like to do activities that keep me occupied and focused on the positive. 4. Skin care: I wash my face with a cleanser and moisturize my face after. I also shave every other day. Also try to limit long sun exposure with sunscreen and even some shades like sunglasses, long sleeve, and a hat. Since I have some acne currently at age 23, I had a ton of acne breakouts when I was obese. Since I changed my habits, a majority of my acne is gone. I don’t want to just age, I want to age with grace and with youth in my upcoming years.

I did not dismiss his medical team, I challenge that this crazy thing he is doing is the only way. Aging well doesn't have to be a rich privilege as he seems to portray. And if he is not doing it for aesthetics perhaps he doesn't need retinol creams and darker hair dye to look like his teenage son. Obviously there is a marketing strategy behind it, especially if you see the Fotoshooting they took together to advertise their blueprint company. @@user-ts3cn3yy6t yeah, the more i read. i come to an uneducated but researched understanding, that only people with certain conditions should fast for any period of time, only in cooperation with their doctor.

I’m following him and find it all very interesting. He’s an experiment and talks about that. Doctors should do more of this instead of giving out meds.

An experiment with a sample size of one is a completely ineffective experiment. Nevermind that we don't know which of the $2 million actually had the significant impact. Even if we did, we still have no relevant information on how the general population would react to the same treatments. Experiments without significant sample size, a control group, and done in double bind conditions are utterly useless and a waste of money. It definitely shows how illiterate the public is to scientific studies. What he is is a midlife crisis who already had a ridiculously expensive car. It's really pretty sad.

You missed the research on 400g of veggies etc? Greens like this are scattered everywhere in Abbey's videos. Also, I believe her role is to educate, rather than be prescriptive.

I think he needs some red meat and sun. He has to use a testosterone patch. That could probably be eliminated with the addition of some beef.

Thank you for the video, very appreciated, as always. But wanted to insert a little info fact, for those who are interested - we are monkey 🐵 According to the Cladistic/Phylogenetic classification system of organisms, descendants can never grow out of its ancestry, and so, even if we are primates, apes, anatomically modern humans, we are based on the template of monkeys, with some changes in the recipe, for our individuality 😅 Don't worry, it's only a trigger for bio-anthropology community) In the case of scientific studies, the correct way to address them, according to their relevancy to a given population, is to say that our body systems work sufficiently different from them and therefore we cannot conclusively extrapolate the result from their to our population, even though we are technically monkeys) But with the ability to create and post videos on KZfaq and create social media communities) Thank you again, for the video!
