They keep insisting that the show is edited and make them look bad... Sure a TV show adds music, cuts and edits scenes, But those scenes come form situations that really HAPPENED. They were truly yelling and taunting people, and even if the customers were actors hired to sabotage their service this couple's reactions are not normal. Every time they are interviewed they share their fucked up view of the world: like they are is some sort of war zone. They are so over dramatic about everything.

Wtf ever this lady is out of her damned mind. All Gordon did was tell her the truth and she did not want to hear it because she thinks she's little ms perfect. She didn't deserve Ramsay's help but she does however deserve to rot in hell for the way she treats her employees and her customers. Gordon Ramsey, truly tries to help these people, while he does run a show. If you watch enough of his shows you would know he truly is only trying to help them. He has done so much good, often remodeling the entire old resturant. Samy and Amy, had more than a breakdown......but hopefully they can recover, and truly learn many lessons. Just like most of us have to do.

I doubt they will learn. They're just gonna commit more crimes. Speaking of crimes, Amy and Samy had criminal records of the past before Kitchen Nightmares episode. Long story short, they were stealing or doing something illegal with bank accounts and creating false passports/documents for other countries like Germany, Italy, you name it. Again, I doubt Samy and Amy will learn a thing or two. To have a successful restaurant, you shouldn't behave like this on the show. Because once it's done, there's no going back. And no one, no one will trust them anymore.

Ramsey is a master of a totally different form of catering. Where he rewards his team with everything possible. Tips, customer comment cards, gifts, the chances to make mistakes so you can learn from them. It's like a family. They are all very close in his restaurants. When that poor girl kate got shot down in such a cowardice manner, Gordon essentially saw a mother figure disown her daughter. Yes, it's a business. You will be punished. But you have to show them kindness & love. Especially when they are as young & patient as those waitress'. That poor girl was bullied to tears. It will take more than a stoical premeditated interview to convince the world to welcome them with open arms.

They were hired- on. You can't make food for a TV show with an empty restaurant. The place has been closed since December. But there has been some lunatics that actually willingly come here on their own. PS: The cakes aren't real. They are bought from local bakeries and set out for decoration.

Today I've seen kitchen nightmare and Gordon Ramsay was visiting the ABC. If I was there I would smack the hell out of hell for all the bullshit and inappropriate behavior she showed. I'm culinary student at Johnson and wales and I don't care when my friends criticize my food, it helps me understand what I need to do to make my food taste better but she can't even take one single criticism. If I was the owner I would fire Amy and his husband months ago.

SpreadingtheMuse To be fair, most making that 5$ plus tips usually make way more than people who are just paid minimum wage. I am SO against tipping. It's not done in other countries and it's just a way of not paying your employees that nobody even blinks at in the U.S. We need to get rid of the tipping system and just make actual minimum wage much higher.... but NOOOOO that's not possible, right? We've become so used to just saying fuck you to anybody working in the food industry in this country and it isn't right.

martinaee A high minimum wage in fast food will backfire. Lots of European countries dont have counter staff anymore. They have a self-serve touch screen kiosk that sends your orders to the cooking staff. Most fast food restaurants are run by mom and pop franchise owners. They dont get any support from corporate, and they dont have big buckets of spare money lying around. If we make workers too expensive they'll just HIRE LESS WORKERS and go electronic. I worked in fast food in the late 80s where the minimum wage was raised about every 1-2 years. Every time it did, prices went up. The money had to come from somewhere. This is a zero sum game.

$5/hr + tips? That seems super low. I don't know the minimum wage in US but that seems low. Canada minimum wage right now is $10.25/hr + tips in restaurants. My restaurant does a flat rate for kitchen staff tips and servers gets to keep what they make but tip out a certain percentage to the kitchen/bar.

In the US minimum wage is $10 an hour generally. However, for whatever reason waitresses and waiters get paid absolute crap, often not even minimum wage, which is why tipping is such a big deal here. They basically survive off of tips, so taking the tips away is VERY bad and I can't begin to fathom how anyone would continue to work there with those awful wages.

Most of America is 2.13 + tips. It's why Americans tip generously, because tips are literally the bulk of the server's wages.

Yeah, as others said, in the US servers min wages are $2.13+ tips (some states have their own min wages that are just slightly higher). Many servers do very well with tips. A good server in a good restaurant can make over a hundred in a night. Also if the waitress does not make the standard minimum of $7.25/hour when her tips are figured, the restaurant does have to make up for that. So it is actually $2.15 + tips, so long as the total = at least $7.25. The problem is that amy probably isn't aware/disregards that part, and since they are nearly always empty the servers probably don't make enough tips to reach the $7.25 min. And they hire young inexperienced kids, so they won't even know any better that she is supposed to make up the difference.

"Stirring up a situation?" Excuse me? This woman was serving undercooked food, and then blatantly refusing to accept that she was wrong. Not to mention lying about the freshness of the food, claiming that the ravioli was fresh when it was store bought. Also, she was firing staff on unfair grounds (she fired a woman for 'giving her attitude' after she asked a question), the customers were treated like crap, the restaurant is badly organised and I STRONGLY advise another line of work for a woman who can't take criticism.

This was after the supposed "hacking". "People come in and think if you complain about the food we will yell at you and attack you and its not true" Followed by a video of them chasing a guy down the street with a knife and cursing at him.

This seem kind of typical for reality TV however I think what makes it different is that these people really are like this and its not a collection of edited video to make something look different. Other people have gone there and been really treated this way and TMZ even had video of this restaurant owner trying to stab someone with a knife.

+Nightquaker Isn't that the deal in the US? In Australia you get a flat rate of $8-14 an hour because who the fuck tips in Australia; meanwhile my cousins in the US are earning $4-8 an hour with tips, where most of their income is dependant on the customer tipping that expected 12%

My mom has schizophrenia and Amy acts almost exactly like my mom. I really do believe that Amy has schizophrenia. I wish and hope that Amy or her husband can realize that and get the treatment she needs desperately.

You may NOT agree with the customers..It is the customers' demand that kept your restaurant open so you better make it the way they like it or customers will never come back. Yelp and other social media clearly demonstrate that you DON'T listen which is the most BASIC quality that is required in any successful business. I WILL NOT pay for food that is NOT cooked to my standard and I still believe this is the RIGHTS of the customers. You are here to provide a SERVICE to the guests that YOU served..NOT the other way around..
