Bernie what you are saying I think is if the transceiver is pulling the circuit down pulling fuses will not solve the problem but if you pull a fuse to a module and the system comes to life you have found the problem. I hope I’m getting this correct. Stay safe and thanks for sharing Artie 😊

I'm having this issue on my 2008 titan. The horn wasn't working (though other controls are fine on the steering wheel) .... So I checked the fuse and cleaned it off as it wasn't blown and the horn worked for a little. Then I changed the fuse and it worked for a little.... Then it stopped so I removed the relay and replaced it... At that time the SLIP light came on (I didn't remove the battery terminal when changing the relay)... And with it, the U1000 code came through too. I checked the ground by the battery, and the front passenger side panel behind the battery... Took them both off after disconnecting the battery and cleaned the eye connector, bolt, and body. I put them back on and hooked the battery up and used a bluedriver pro to scan then clear codes.... The SLIP light comes right back on and the u1000 and sometimes u1001 codes are pulling up. As a result, the drive icon is blacked out and I can't select between 2wd and 4wd... Just the SLIP light on. No other lights. What do you suggest???

In my experience no, there is no risk in doing this. This is the way that we were trained by Mercedes Benz USA , as a factory tech, no locate faulty modules/branches on a network. It is a little easier on a Benz because most of them have "X connectors" which act as a "junction" for the modules to connect to. So all you have to do is locate the x connector for the network you are working on, then unplug one connector at a time until the waveform stabilizes. I have never had any issues doing this.

I have a Honda where the CAN looks a bit weird, the signals are not exactly waveforms and I'm suspecting a CAN issue as I can see very high resistance. I was able to find a bridge where I can check either ends but they end up connecting but the wirings change in colors, I decided to chase this with a resistance change instead and so far I'm thinking it may be the SRS module as I'm getting a code for it malfunctioning. I will unplug it tomorrow and see if the resistance drops to where it should be. Funny is that when I disconnect and reconnect the battery, the car is normal but as soon as I press the push to start, it starts to act up, it eventually corrects itself when all systems go to sleep but the navigation & radio stay on, along with the gage saying it is power on. Car runs and drives, had a code with the power steering module (EPS) CAN communication, I unplugged it and the issue remained so the SRS may be dropping that module from communicating properly. I already unplugged most modules that use the CAN networks, only thing left is the PCM, BCM, climate control, radio, gage module & SRS module. This is a Honda Coupe 2013, 2.4L Non Sport.

Excellent video! I have a 2014 Sentra for which the P0744 code will not clear. I think there is an electrical issue. With the ignition on I scan the code and erase it. Without starting the car or doing anything else I read for the codes and the p0744 remains. This leads me to believe the error is live all the time. I checked the valve body solenoids and the wiring to the trans. All seem to be fine. I’m thinking the TCM is acting up. Is there a way to test the communication with the TCM. I don’t have the fancy scope or the dealer software. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks

I was worried about unplugging the SRS module with the key on, I once had air bags deploy on me. I can't remember if it was unbolted or still mounted, but I always have the key out when unplugging them now.
@Lambros_Stefaneas3 жыл бұрын
Most possible, the module was unbolted, and when you was trying to disconnect it,you turn the module up side down, the gyro sensor inside the module 'felt' that the car had an accident and turned up side down, and deployed the airbags. logically, only the side airbags deployed. can you remember which airbags deployed?

what a horrible system. one defective module should not shut down the whole car. reminds of old days Christmas light when one burned bulb would shut the remaining good hundreds of bulbs obsolete. very malicious design especially when their own factory scanner had no idea what was going on. there's no reason why the scanner was not able to set several different codes for the airbag module not communicating wasting 15 minutes on camera time and about 2 hours off the camera time of this fine gentleman.
@patriciomunoz28303 жыл бұрын
I agree with you but this happens in all brands by this time
@MPier3 жыл бұрын
@@patriciomunoz2830 that doesn't mean it's ok. government should ask the manufacturers t o recall their poorly designed craps and re-program them so one bad module does not shut down the whole car and if it does it should set a very precise fault code. it's absurd that nissan factory scan tool was not able to say which module was causing the problem. I'm currently recommending to my customers to stay away from european cars because they don't know secondary air system. if their cars don't complete the secondary air system monitor, they wont be able to smog it and will have to trade or junk the car. there should also be some class-action law suits against manufacturers who have very primitive design flaws embedded in their systems. there should be law suits against those that use finest print on a very small label for critical information labels such as underhood emissions labels, for instance or models that don't run self-test monitors if scan tool is connected to their dlc, ... just because they do it wrong doesn't mean we should develop tools to put up with their pure negligence. why if the chief engineer was suffering from Alzheimer or dementia at the time of the design?
@nakiabrown9942 жыл бұрын
@@MPier thank you so much man! I'm currently having the same problem with my 2018 Nissan Rouge sl. The car is relatively new, but I can't seemed to pass the "smog", as I'm getting a U1000 & 1001 codes, which of course results in an I/M Cat, O2 sensor, and EVAP all "Not ready". Remind you, I don't have a "check engine light" on. Some mechanics have advised me to "drive the car some more". I've been driving over and over on the highway by their instructions, only to realized that the problem still exists. I'm extremely frustrated and annoyed as you can imagine. I set up an appointment with Nissan next Thursday, but a bit nervous, as their are known for poor customer service smh
@MPier2 жыл бұрын
@@nakiabrown994 insane, these issues were seen on early obdii cars and mostly on the european models, say 1996,1997 models but there's absolutely no excuse for a 2018 model to behave the same way, not completing the monitors and without setting any codes so we can have an idea what the hell is wrong with it, especially with gas prices at these levels. Nissan dealer will most likely say 'drive it on the highway straight for 10 minutes'. Also don't go faster than 68mph for this purpose.
