next time you gotta make one with an articulated arm controlled by a controller of some kind, so instead of having a fixed angle for the third person camera you can move the camera around much like in a video game.

In the next iteration, it’d be cool to attach the camera to a gimbal (like a DJI Osmo). You could use it to stabilize the footage, and use a controller to look around you like a real 3rd person game. Great work!

Wow! This game is super realistic! That's probably why you needed to turn the graphics so low. Although, I do feel like a hot dog tree was a strange choice by the devs.

This can be altered for a good halloween costume, you could make the mount go straight up instead of being behind a you and dress up as some tall creature, then put the head where the camera is and due to still being able to see it’ll seem realistic

How dare you imply that this video is staged. For your information (FYI) sausage trees are a normal occurrence in the deep wildernesses. I believe one of the Paul brothers found a sausage tree in a Japanese forest.

You could do this again with a drone that assumes a fixed elevation and stays behind your head, position tracking to allow it to know the orientation of your head. Would be more like actual 3rd person games.

I would say to make it easier to actually use, you could offset it to the side a bit, so you can see what's in front of you, and put it on a mount that mimics the motions of your head, so that when you look up or down or left and right the camera does the same

It would probably help the nausea if the camera had a stabilizer on it. It might already, I'm not sure. But having the camera be still still walking would help a lot.

this gives me an idea for a reesident evil styled fixed camera system for a maze, where someone has a headset like you do, but they see everything from a fixed camera system, the only issue I see with it is getting to a way where the camera seamlessly jumps when you enter into a new area.

You should get one of those drones that follows you no matter what. you could figure out how to connect the headset to the drone somehow, I'm sure you are smart enough to do that. i think that would be an interesting way to see yourself in third person.

Mostly - it actually looks a bit better when you’re using the headset, but that’s just because it’s cropped slightly to fit a KZfaq aspect ratio. The resolution was 1080x960 for each eye, and I never really got nauseous!

There needs to be more space above your head, so you can see where you’re going and not just where you are. It’s similar to walking a tightrope. Try it while looking down versus looking where you’re going, it makes all the difference
