Can rislone really fix oil consumption and get rid of white smoke?

On the bottle it says "stops blue exhaust smoke".Blue smoke is generally caused by worn valve seals and/or piston rings.White smoke is caused by coolant leak.So you chose the wrong product to begin with.

I think your "white smoke" is steam from a head gasket leak allowing coolant into the cylinders. Oil smoke is bluish and doesn't evaporate away quickly. You should have tried a product made to seal small gasket leaks. There are products you can add to your engine coolant.

I have no visable smoke color, but I have oil consumption. Would this help or should I use Rislone Compression Ring Sealer in that tall Alloy yellow/blk bottle? I have an 05 Civic EX with V-TEC. Would any rislone product screw up a VVT engine? Thanks.

I think its just a garbage engine but who cares about that little bit of steam fog shit its not anything like a couple bad valve seals or piston rings, when your driving down the road and a cloud the size of your car is following you then you should be getting worried cause it might be a ghost car chasing you 👻 lol

Sorry to hear that. But This product worked for me. Audi 134,000 miles. Every morning would start it up and had smoke. I followed the directions and it worked. Great product

I believe you are using an oil leak treatment for a coolant leak. It's like you are putting a tourniquet on your left arm for a cut on your right arm.

A lot of these rebuild in a can additives do actually help in some cases, at least to get you by for a while, but they are not instant by any means. You need to give it a couple thousand miles to help motor internals. I'll take your word for the smoke, it isn't very much, but if it is white that is usually coolant. Oil smoke is a richer blue and hangs in the air. You can't miss it. Take off your oil cap and see how much smoke if any comes from the oil hole. People want instant gratification. Patience is a virtue. Hey, 3 years later - what were your results after 1 2 3 years? That will be a better test.

Did u figure out the problem or fix it? I have truck doing same thing and i changed my head gasket and timing chain and cover and when i timed it, thats when it started smoking bad. So jw if u figured out your problem? Tha ks

I've used it in my 2005 Toyota Avensis 2.4L and it worked. Before I used it, my car had a strong oil-burning smell and blue smoke when revving but after putting the oil in and then driving it the oil smell went away and blue smoke is gone once then the engine is warm

It works for my 2002 Suburban. when I start the engine sometimes it smokes a big cloud due to misfire, this fixed it.

Nothing you put in your oil will fix white smoke. You have a head gasket leak. Blue smoke oil, white smoke coolant. Had it been an oil seal, it would take about 200 miles of driving and a few days for any oil seal product to have time to soften harden seals. Hope you sorted out your issue.

Any updates ab your civic??.. my 99 prelude automatic blows some blue smock but not black or witte somock means coolant inside cilynders .. black means piston rings and blue is valve seals my car just blows blue smoke at stop ligts .... do you still using rislone products???

Black smoke means it is running Rich on gas , blue smoke means oil or valve seals, white smoke means coolant inside the oil , no this was my first time using it I just wanted to give it a shot and see if it works .

White smoke is typically an internal coolant leak whereas blue smoke is an internal oil leak.

White smoke, more like coolant getting into the combustion cycle. Are you loosing coolant? Getting gasses/bubbling in the header tank?

Blue smoke is oil,white smoke is usually the head gasket.you can replace the gasket,but if it’s not sealed properly (possibly the head is warped causing coolant to get thru,maybe a crack in the coolant passages somewhere,torqued incorrectly,any number of issues) you’re still going to burn some coolant.if you’re burning oil,the plugs would indicate it.Have you pulled them and inspected them?

You need to find what the problem is! You might have a cracked head cylinder or cracked block! Next time you do head gasket, you might want to send your head cylinder to a machine shop to do a pressure test! If you are lucky, they will find the issue on your head cylinder and if it’s not cracked most likely is reparable! Best of luck to you!

@@7777Lace If this comment was meant for me...No I am not a mechanic/technician. I just know ALOT about cars/trucks due too research and my own experience working on them myself...Because I don't trust anybody nowadays when it comes to this subject!!!!! Plus I have OCD...which you be surprised at how useful it can become but at the same time being a pain in the ass! I have surprised many many people besides myself with what I have accomplished and thanks to KZfaq University saved myself at least $5000-$7000 in labor doing the work myself in the last decade...10 years. I want to be up front with you...no bullshit!!! That's not my style!!! Black smoke usually means that the car is running too rich/too much fuel. This can be related to bad fuel injectors stuck/leaking in the open position. Replacement/rebuilt will help that a lot. I also see a lot of black soot on the rear bumper and tailpipe of cars do to it running rich. Turbo cars are suppose to run slightly/ more rich than normally aspirated cars so they have enough fuel when in boost mode and don't blow up from detonation. Running more boost requires more fuel too. Also, a lot of cars in my area are not running catalytic converters...which is illegal in PA. Plus it F&*king Stinks!!!!! My dad's truck has both converters just about completely gone and the same outcome. But he drives under 5000 miles a year which is emissions exempt in PA. he doesn't need an emissions test done even though the SES light has been on for 3 years now. The blue smoke is what I mentioned earlier...Whether it's at startup, idle, driving...Bad/worn piston rings, bad/worn valve guides and seals will cause this to happen. Just my opinion and from my experiences. You could try a very good product called RESTORE or what someone else had mentioned called BARDAHLS or RISLONE...Just make sure it stops or helps with oil burning...Nothing for head gaskets or coolant leaks. That's for white smoke. The gentleman in this video has a head gasket/leaking coolant problem just as others have mentioned and needs some other product or checking the head gasket for leaks. I am in no way trying to knock this man so please don't take what I said the wrong way. :) Sorry for such a very very long post but I wanted to be thorough enough for you and anybody else!!! I could definitely have been a mechanic or could be...But working on cars every day of the week would literally make me lose my mind...Even more than now!!! ;) KZfaq University as I like to call it has saved me $5000-$7000 in just labor in 10 years...That's a decade. One vehicle once in a while even if it takes three weeks 2-3 hours a day would be fine. But I will fix it because I am VERY PERSISTENT...Once I put my mind too something, I never give up!!!!! Try the Bar's Leak Valve Seal Repair. Helped on my kia still smokes at hard throttle, But no puff at start up. Worked on my Infiniti very well no more puff's at start up. Could be yoru Guides/Seals

did he change his pcv valve first? that is the first thing you do, a bad one starts to break down your rings.just did a friends car , a honda accord 2003, with same issues, but pcv and new hose, then rislone, no smoke.

@@dbzownz12345 if you have oil consumption without the engine burning smoke, there can be several reasons why that is happening,leakiy oil pan gasket, valve cover gasket , oil pan plug, etc. could be in the engine, but before you start pouring stuff into the engine, try and find the leak, lay cardboard under the engine overnight and see if you have dripping, i think if your rings and pistons were the problem, you would see smoke for sure.

@@danieleremian No leaks at all. Pan gasket was recentl resealed & valve cover gasket is dry. I've owned this gen civic for going on 4 years now over 3 different cars & I know the common leaks on it. Sadly, it seems like the piston rings are tired & may need to be either flushed or add some treatment to them. I'm just not 100% convinced a "flush" using liquid moly would cause more damage by removing gunk that has built up & preventing further oil burning. Have you ever used Liquid Moly products before?

You will get higher oil consumption with thicker oil if you have low tension piston rings. Even a high risk off sludge buildup between the piston and the ring. The result is blowby

A Bad PSV or EGR or piston rings causes blue smoke from burning to much oil. Pull your plugs, shine a light in there to look for oil. That would be to check for blue smoke and that what this product is for. White smoke you need to check your radiator and overflow tank.

@@classicdiy1812 that might be because the coolant is washing carbon off top of pistons mixing in with oil or just mixing in oil over flow and radiator check fulness and what it looks like. doesnt take alot of coolant to look like alota smoke just a thought.

Drain all the oil and fill it up with 90 weight gear oil. Works like magic, try it it worked for my Honda.

pull the plugs see which one don't look like normal then determine if some quality head gasket sealer possible fix the white coolant smoke I cant believe you oxygen sensor hasn't started raising hell with everything.

wrong product, however condensation makes white smoke all the time might not be an actual problem, also fuel mixture. and why do people expect results in 5 minutes, drive it 1000 miles or so and then make a point.

I don’t know if it works but this isn’t nearly enough time to test it. The instructions say 5 min to circulate the product. That does not mean it fixes it in 5 minutes. It would take at least a full oil change cycle, if it works.

It works for me .. 99 prelude automatic... at the time you aply the product you have to drive the car and it will start working slowly.. ..... my car has 255000 miles..i ddnt use any more 5w30 i use 10w30 comventional oil not the syntetic cus syntetic is to thinn..and makes my car leaks everywere..10w30 makes my car fells good compression it ddnt consum the oil and no leaks and plus rislone helps with blue somke.. is been like 3 years using same 10w30 and rislone and my engine fells so sumde... just give time to rislone to start the job...

Sir you are not addressing your real problem. Even at the beginning you defined your problem as "white smoke" and oil consumption, which is what this particular product is designed to address, is a bluish color and black smoke, at least on gasoline engines is usually a fuel issue or too rich. I've used this and several similar products from other companies with mostly positive results. Sometimes we allow a problem to progress too far and we expect not just a mechanic in a can but a miracle in a can. Do a pressure check on your coolant system and I think you will find a solution. Also, if this were oil smoke you should be burning oil at a pretty good rate between changes.

You are saying the car is blowing WHITE SMOKE !!!!! Then why did you pour in an oil treatment product in the engine ???? And make a video of your action ??? "WHITE SMOKE" Hey man have you ever seen oil burn and give out white smoke ?? Why don't you prepare another video but this time use the correct product related to water issues in your engine.
