What's up with y'alls power on the West Coast...? Craziness...! Our power rarely goes out here in Sarasota, Florida, except for hurricanes... I was lucky and was in the 15% that did not lose power during Ian last year...! Anyway, keep up the good work that y'all spoil us with...! Thanks

I added Hygger Backup air pumps on all of my aquariums. I lost power & the air pumps kept going. Since the battery is in the air pump, it will only go 24 hours in "Intermittent" mode. Still it was a fish life saver!!

OK I just ordered one, thanks for the idea, this is the second great idea I got from you, the first was the greenhouse panel lids. I am clumsy, and now no longer do I have broken glass lids in my fish room.

We are lucky where I live . many neighbors have generators so no one complains.we live in the woods so power outages are expected. We start the generator flick switches the whole house is running. Easy

I had the same issue where I live with power issues. I got a nature's generator, which has solar panels. Similar to your solution except I can power via solar. Probably would work great in San Francisco. Also has a transfer switch for integration into your power grid.

I am very interested in this, I’m off to do some research. I had 2 tanks going during Sandy and I lost power for more than a week. I think it was 10 days, crazy times. I have UPS on all my systems and the main life support runs off the battery side. I moved my heaters to the battery and adjusted the controllers to allow a longer drop in temp, as the startup draws more than the regular operation. So I allowed a 6 degree swing in temp. I had a gas powered generator and we would switch it from fridge to furnace to tanks to stove etc as needed. I had about 12 hours of battery so 2x a day I plugged it into the generator. I kept everything alive, but it was nerve wracking to say the least, along with a flooded in-laws house and work and wow, I’m going to go grab a beer after remembering all that.

I have a battery back up for my computer equipment, but never thought to get one for my air compressor for my fish room. Duh, I feel like a dolt not thinking of that.

I just have 1 tank it's a 75 gal with a few small danio's no heater & with a canister filter I use a car battery we don't go very long without power, but with how things are going it would be a wise idea to have 1.

I think you can disconnect all your tanks from the powersupply when you hook up this thing to solar panels. Have the sun run your system during the day. And this device during the night.

With that many tanks in your house, you should consider a Tesla powerwall, it can hold 13KW of power, can power the filters and the heaters thru a long outage.
@TazawaTanks
@TazawaTanks Жыл бұрын
That would be great idea…except: 1. I can’t have solar here. 2. Not enough direct sun to power a wall even if I were able to install solar panels. For my situation, this battery and my generator are my best options. Having two of these batteries would be ideal. One for the fishroom, one to power my router and charge electronics inside the house, and a generator for the rest.

Holy crap 1500$ I built one three times that size for 950$, but I'm poor so I had to . Wonder if "Will Prowse" has reviewed this yet.

I realize that $1,500 is a lot for most people. I was told by the manufacturer that between the sale and my discount code, the price is now $1049. Not far off of your $950...especially if someone isn't as skilled as you in making one.

$1,500???? Wow that’s expensive. I get it, that’s a really nice product, but yikes that’s pricey. You can get a Dewalt battery charger for like $200. Probably no where here as powerful, but would be more than enough for any power outages that I would go through.

$1100 with the discount. Basically, it only makes sense and my scale. Let’s say someone has like 5-10 tanks. Probably doesn’t make sense unless they have other uses for it. However, if you have like 30 aquariums, it breaks it down to $36 per tank, which is still a lot, but possibly worth it for something that has a setup like me.

You're scared of making noise and exhaust one night in San Francisco?! That's good of you, but can you impart that to the people doing fireworks at all sorts of random night hours sometimes 😵‍💫 there was someone doing that last weekend for some reason (mission district) All my fish tanks are heavily planted nano unheated tanks so only worry much, they don't have air stones (just filters that provide some airflow). My main worry is cold and my frogs in vivariums, but they're all downstairs that doesn't loose heat easily.

Yeah, I bet it get’s loud in the Mission. I am in the Midtown Terrace/Forest Knolls area, so it’s super quiet up here.

@@TazawaTanks I was guessing sunset, forest knolls is such a beautiful (and quieter) area. San Francisco has so much diversity (of areas, weather, climate, people) within this relatively small city
