You should make a video play testing the unedited version of this deck vs the changes you would make

I definitely would like more of this type of content too if time is limited. Gameplay videos of boros are always great and give us something to watch, but going through the process and article reviewing such as this is much needed too.

18:30 boromir is a good 3cmc one sided stax piece that you can sac to basically heroic intervention.

I haven't watched one of your videos in a while but I'm planning on building Goad Aurelia and when I saw that you're making a guide for it, it was an instant watch. This video also reminded me when you helped me build my Gisela deck in the past and as returner to the game, I'm glad to see that we're still applying the same fundamentals xD Can't wait to watch more of your videos on Boros :)

I'm becoming ever more convinced that the reason that most of the EDH community thinks Boros sucks is because they want to keep Boros down.

Well thought out and insightful criticism. I wish they'd paid you for your time. I'm surprised you didn't mention the low amount of lands. As much as people who run channels or sites preach running more lands, this article's lost is only running 33 lands. That's just wrong, especially considering the ramp package is abysmal.

Good, in depth video! I just subscribed. So I built a deck for Kellan, Daring Traveler that also has a lot of creatures that are also 3 mana value or less to answer Kellan’s ability. So much, that I made it a rule. However, I know it’s not the best approach. Any suggestions? Most of them are stax creatures to balance the scales, and some protection that also returns Kellan so I can cast the Instant again.

Maybe the deck is on a budget? I mean, it's half-A treasure theme, but doesn't even have The Reaver Cleaver... Which would even satisfy the 3-CMC thing. Bitterthorn, nissa's animist is another (probably better) sword of the animist. In lists like this, I actually really love Settle the Wreckage - turning all your tokens into ramp for your Forth Eorlingas! or Secure the Wastes is pretty awesome if you need it. (As well as its intended purpose. lol) Getting one-sided board wipes in White for a list like this is so easy - Austere Command, Valiant Endeavor, Fell the Mighty, Expel the Interlopers, Dusk//Dawn, etc. Heck, Citywide Bust, Slaughter the Strong, and Retribution of the Meek are even at 3 CMC. I'm just trying to make the point that even if you're creature heavy, if you're in white, then you can still play as many board wipes as you like; no color does it better. Speaking of extra combats - combos aren't for everyone, but if you have extra combat spells (Fury of the Horde, Relentless Assault, World at War, etc), then I'd humbly suggest that you consider Surge to Victory. It's not an instant-win, so maybe it shouldn't be considered a combo? 😁... but it usually just lets you take combats till all your friends die. Lol. As a bonus, if played fairly, it also does really well with the token-producing instant/sorceries that you'd include in a deck like this. Decent finisher if you have higher cmc spells to target, too. Better then eerie interlude and ghostaway is Cleber concealement- in a good tokens deck it will often be free and save your tokens too

Doomed Traveler is great for aristocrat decks (and really any variant of it like Garrison Cat or something), but I'd never run it in an aggro deck! Felt like an odd inclusion. Maybe just some Delney synergy?

The fact that oketras monument isnt in the deck, despite passively making dudes and constantly ramping you *and* being within the =< 3cmc constraint of the deck should be a felony.

Love your content, and this video was great! I did a video a while ago that I think you'd appreciate. Deck was built around winning with Platinum Angel. I made a Kaalia deck that was Angel focused and ran Chance for Glory and Final Fotrune. Seems like it'd be right up your alley.

With this many token creature generators, it would probably be prudent to run Eldrazi Monument. Also, since Aurelia says, "whenever a player attacks," running lots of goad would be good as well. Or at least Disrupt Decorum to force draw as many cards in a turn cycle while dealing damage to your opponents at the same time.

Awesome break down! I agree with all of these. Personal note, I think ppl underestimate how good a small team that all have 1st strike is! Makes you extremely hard to attack into. Also do you have a deck list of your org aurila double combat deck?

Great video! I love your takes on how to play boros, they're so true. Seeing this makes me wonder if you'd be interested in seeing my boros tokens decklist for Neyali. It's got a focus on enchantments / repeatable token creation for extra resilience and more board pump to synergise with the double strike Neyali gives. The same core concepts are built in but in a different style. Any value taking a look (for video content or otherwise)?

15:21 its tough to work with if its not your commander, but rune-tail is a 3cmc option to keep your creatures from dying to damage.

You expected something better from EDHREC article authors? This is about on par with their ability and site's diminishing quality.

When you look at the list, it looks like someone who plays a lot of green and very little Boros. I mean, no anim pakal? Literally creates board states. Besides, this Aurelia screams goad and control.

Love the content PJ. I just think the title "worst Aurelia Law Above Deck Ever" is a little heavy handed or mean. And while I agree with some of your points and I know you play a lot of Boros decks, but I think you're a little ingrained in some of your habits and haven't tried to experiment too far out of your comfort zone in a long time. Boros decks might still be more inflexible than other color pairs of decks, but not so much that the equipment package you run in nearly every boros deck is compulsory. I know that you're just trying to share what works for you, and it comes from a place of good faith, and I agree the Aurelia pile could be better. I don't think the deck creator plays on MTGO, though, and he plays for streams with his buddies and other content creators. So I think the intent behind the deck is hard to read at first glance but might suit his purposes.
