Moisture overload is the reason that deep conditioners tell you to only leave it on for 10 minutes or whatever amount of time it says on the back. If your hair is healthy you should only be using it for that amount of time. And you should only go over that time if your hair is ridiculously damaged and dry.
@courtneyneal13853 жыл бұрын
Exactly and I’ve heard from licensed curly hair stylist that unless your hair is really damaged you don’t have to deep condition every week. Using a quality conditioner goes a long ways.
@atmreads3 жыл бұрын
@@courtneyneal1385 exactly, I only use a deep conditioner when I clarify my hair, which is maybe once a month and I just use it in place of my normal conditioner. And that's because my hair has never been colored, and it's been heat styled like 4 times, so it's not damaged.
@NaturallyCurlyBry3 жыл бұрын
Makes perfect sense! 😊
@SaraHinata3 жыл бұрын
I ended up with overmoisturized hair because I followed Bianca's advice to "deep condition at least once a week". The reality is, how often you deep condition depends on your hair and even climate conditions. I live in a hot and humid weather, so not only I was drinking a lot of water, deep conditioning weekly, my hair was also absorbing water from the environment. This is why you should listen to your hair and not an influencer's opinion based on THEIR hair and experiences 🤦🏽♀️
@atmreads3 жыл бұрын
@@SaraHinata I completely agree! I feel like so many influencers act like their experience is the only experience, and you should treat your hair how they treat theirs. But you shouldn't, that's also why I hate when influencers say that everyone should use a certain product because then you get people saying it didn't work because it's not what they needed. People need to start listening to registered hairstylists and their own hair, not just influencers.

@@MiVidaBellisima This is why I buy the jumbo co-wash from Curlsmith! Yeah it's expensive, but it'll last me a couple months so I'm not buying it as often as shampoo and conditioner. I hated it!!!!! Didn’t like the feel of the foam in my hair as it went in. I had no shine whatsoever after it dried. Not sure if I used too much product or just that foam ain’t for me😏 I’m going to give it a second try by itself or the cream by itself and see if it’s better. Idk....I wanted to love it because it does smell so great and the healthy ingredients. I have medium/high porosity fine hair with coarseness at the nape of my neck and forehead region with tons of hair.
