Hi, notice the trays ends are tucked under. That is why it did not spark. Exposed ends is what causes the sparking. Test it 😊

i did it with a container that looked almost identical to the one you used in your video and in my case sparks were visible immidiately and the smell from the burned aluminium was so horrible that i had to throw away part of the food that was inside. i recommend everyone to be careful with aluminium in a microwave especially aluminium that is thin or has sharp edges, they seem to spark the most
@tomaskalna42 Жыл бұрын
Even if it doesn't spark it doesn't mean it can't leave the magnetron 😃
@ThatSB Жыл бұрын
Did you have a metal lid on it or was your tray touching the edges of the microwave? Or did you have it sitting directly on the bottom? There can be no metal to metal contact or it will burn
@Zalwalloo11 ай бұрын
Burnt it? You did it and walked away?
@Meshamu Жыл бұрын
The risk of sparking is higher with sharp edges, or small gaps between metal pieces. If you use metal in the microwave, keep each piece as far away from each other, and from the walls of the microwave, as possible. Don't let any touch the walls of the oven.
@bobf97496 ай бұрын
Apparently, thicker metal absorbs mor waves so will take longer to start sparking. Also, it needs points or edges where electrons collect.

When microwave ovens were first introduced metals could damage the magnetron, but modern ovens are safer. Always read your owners manual for the appliance you are using. It could be the density and shape of the metal have to do with the danger of damage to the unit.

THE ROUNDNESS, SMOOTHNESS AND THICKNESS OF THE ALUMINUM MITIGATES THE LIKELIHOOD OF CARRYING A CHARGE STRONG ENOUGH TO HEAT UP, OR SPARK, SIGNIFICANTLY. AS SOON AS YOU BALLED UP THE ALUMINUM PAN, YOU CREATED POINTS OF RECEPTORS THAT COULD INTERACT/CONDUCT AND CARRY AN OPTIMAL CHARGE TO CAUSE FIRE AND DAMAGE. 👀🤓😜👌✅✌️

It's not about the material, it's about the fact that the microwave is weak. The real microwave power can be about 400W, if you put it in a microwave that has stainless steel sides / 900W, it will spark nicely, maybe even the plate would crack.

I've had so many nightmares where I open the microwave and it keeps running, and it starts killing me from the microwaves getting out. I was feeling extremely agitated watching your experiments! However, I recently bought food from a Spanish food bodega and they microwaved my meal in a tin foil tray and I was in complete shock. Now I see from your video that they know something that 99% of the rest of us didn't know. I don't know if I'll be able to bring myself to do it though.

The scary thing about aluminum in the microwave is that a current is flowing through the pan and it is very probable that aluminum ions are going into the food and being ingested. Aluminum toxicity DOES make humans susceptable to bone fractures and there is compelling evidence that aluminum ingestion over time is linked to Alzeimers and or Parkinsons disease.
@ThatSB Жыл бұрын
This is false. Thorough studies were done by a German institution that showed that microwaving aluminum left no harmful byproduct in the food

I don't want to give you lessons. If it is designed not to carry charges you may microwave it. The supplier should mention this on the product. So never ever risk your life to do these things. This not only make burns. This could definitely make some contaminations on food and finally may poisonous. So better go for microwave safe utensils.
