You do it yourself because you can! That's what separates the you from the others and why they are where their at. Everything evolves from the past and your experience from there is Truly your edge! You've always been 100% dedicated to what you do and why I respect you so much. Why pay somebody and hope they did it right when you can do it and know it's right? If it fails. You know where and what to do without having to call somebody. I cant wait to see you two out there Racing th new cars!

Exactly how I started 40 years ago. I couldn't afford to pay anyone so I had to learn it myself. I've been fortunate to have learned from some of the Best. And took my love to work for Chevy as a career! 35 yrs of non stop classes and OJT. Never got rich but had pride in knowing I worked at 3 of the best shops in Texas.

Yes sir. And i will say the same about you. I watch people that have respect for, people i try to emulate. . I have respect for work ethic, earned talent and a willingness to try! Yall get me out to my shop more than you would think. Many days i don't want to go work on my projects, i have a million excuses why I "deserve" a rest day. Then i think of you, chief, and a couple others i watch, and i get my lazy ass out there and get my damned angle grinder spinning.

@@Taylordrifts yes sir. Lazy days make for restless nights. Knowing that is easy. Executing takes a different level of commitment. But if you can do what you do, while filming! Then go edit, then post, then go again in the morning, well then I can go and at least do the work. (I always think of how much harder it would be working on something if I had to film all the stages and narrate at the same time. Time consuming and distracting I would guess! )

I grew up in the 60’s, 70’s & 80’s. Became an ASE certified master mechanic by age 17. Worked at GM (Buick/GMC) as a tuneup tech & driveability tech. I cut my teeth on old Cadillac Bosch batch fire FI systems. Went through all the C3, C4, OBDI & II systems. Got into Bosch L Jet, CIS, Motronic, etc working at import shops. Was always into race cars as well. Modified the early feedback carb systems to work with cams & eng mods. Worked at Buick when all the SEFI systems were popular (late 80’s, early 90’s). Started to dabble with stand alone fuel systems (DFI/Motec) in the 90’s. LT1/LS1 edit. You name it. I can appreciate what you’re doing here. I’ve always been a turbo guy here on the west coast. Being a huge Buddy Ingersoll fan & friends with Kenny Duttweiler has been a great learning experience. I guess the new Holley systems are supposed to be pretty decent for all in one packages for controlling a bunch of systems. How does FuelTech stack up to Motec in regards to sample rates? Having had to use high speed lab scopes during diagnosing factory systems, how accurate are the data graphs for the high speed sensors?

Man, we do it ourselves not just to save monies, but so we learn every nook and cranny of our race cars. So we know how to fix everything, anything, anywhere, any time. The fewer folks we have to call when something goes wrong, (and let’s face it, if you don’t want to troubleshoot problems, then racing probably isn’t for you) the less time we have to spend waiting on someone else to get us back out there chasing that fucking finish line. Tons of very useful, super smart information in this video. I really could just sit here for hours listening and talking with you about racing, and data, and how to make our programs better. I really appreciate the glimpses into your brain and how you approach or think about the inner workings of this thing of ours. Moar, plz?!

Been building a 636” big block Chevy that I’m running front mount distributor on and planning a multi stage nitrous system on with two 1150’s and didn’t know how I was going to manage all of it until now, thank you for that. Like you, I don’t let anybody touch my shit except for crank grinding or spin balancing. I can’t imagine what people who can’t do their own work actually gain by getting behind the wheel of a car that somebody else built because they weren’t able to. Just like watching this video,it can be entertaining but it’s also research for some of us,thank you for that as well. Once again, great work from you two. 👍

Relax guys, it's better than Chife. To the point of the comment: Get started. Grab a piece of shit car, gather parts, and race. You'll find that small tweaks add up. Don't wait until you can build a Pro Mod, start racing even if it's a 16 sec car. Then get it to 15s, 14s, 13s, 12s, 11s, 10s, 9s etc. The experience along the way will help at any and all power levels. Weight savings are better than adding HP, especially if it's unsprung weight. Justin does a great job explaining the wiring harness, ignition box, nitrous controller, and all that stuff so that the average person can understand. Most of us on here are gearheads, weekend racers, or full-time racers but I’m sure there is a lot of people that watch this video that don’t know a whole lot about the mechanical side of a race car. Chief does a great job explaining it so that everyone can understand. Plus running all those individual boxes is a wiring nightmare and you end up with 100 pounds of copper wire running every which way across the interior of the car. I’ve learned a few things over the years of street/track racing and one of those things is a Fuel-tech set is a huge time saver, that’s for damn sure. I absolutely love see this side of Chief I enjoy more the the tv show.

I think this video right here sums up y'alls relationship with the fastest in America. The way chief talks at the end it looks like you both are gonna focus on him getting his and your names locked in back in the streets like it once was for him. Wish you guys the best of luck and keep the uploads coming!

You did an awesome job on that harness. You guys are definitely building a competitive car and I’m talking about racing with the top level cars not just an average small tire car like mine 🥺. I’m putting nitrous on my car too because we both know naturally aspirated small blocks aren’t super competitive and I’m not satisfied with my car as is. We always want more power and more mph so I guess I better order a set of pistons and rings and get my steel toe boots and hot pads lol because I’m going to melt some shit for sure. The sound in your videos is great and Jackie gets a Yeah Buddy on her camera work 👌. Thanks for another great video.

Some advice for your first nitrous kit: Go NOS or other good kit. Read and follow the directions and recommendations. When they say to run certain jets, run them. If they tell you to pull x degrees of timing, do that. Don't get greedy. If you run bigger jets, run more timing etc the car runs faster, but you will end up with nice dime sized holes in the pistons and that's one of the better scenarios. Chief and Jackie are experienced with nitrous, as a newbie nitrous guy, the best way to go is to be conservative. That's 2 cents of advice from a dummy who went through blocks, cranks, rods, and pistons like they were candy.

Big Chief you said it right the first time. Awesome content as per usual. There the one of the best clip's you can get. Knockin it out Chief and Jackie. nah the holley system would require more wiring, more boxes, and then id still need to mount and wire some sort of gauges or digital dash in order for the driver to monitor vitals in live time

Jackie you killed it with the editing as always! Awesome hearing chief give solid advice and knowledge from experience. P.S. knowing chief loves data y’all may want to look into a crank case pressure sensor if there’s not one already. We always run them on our nitrous deals… you can log any vacuum fluctuation upon detonation so you know if you’re about to let the magic out that bad little small block 🤣😂

I love the way you talked about building the headers where you can only get to one plug and that was of course the smaller cylinder compared to the other six or seven LOL we did that in dirt cars for years they used to p&g a cylinder if it was protested or if it was checked after a win I didn't realize Y'all did it on drag cars also kind of cool. I really enjoyed the way you explain things I was never a big drag racer I did do some street racing but the way you go about putting a car together is the way we used to put cars together you can't win the race if you can't finish the race if your car is broke how can you make money. I really enjoy both of y'all it just works so don't screw with something that works LOL. God bless. Keep the shiny side up. Enough said..

Thank you both for giving real content and I am so happy that you are getting away from the fantasy world that everyone else is still driving blind with their noses up Ryan Martin's ass. I actually like Ryan but the really sad part is the "405" walked away from Chief because Ryan has enough money to buy 40,000 dollar motors and buy whatever he needs to stay on top but as a fellow hvac guy for 27 years I would rather use my brain and get better myself than spending ridiculous amounts of money to say that you are the fastest. I respect what you are doing. Now this is my opinion from watching Chief back on pinks and seeing who got this shit started but just as in the real world you find out who your friends are when money is involved and my opinion is alot of street racers forgot what street means and are stuck in tv land of dumbass sheep grazing for the green!
@michaelwynne4346

I don't know what is going on in the 405 but obviously something has been bothering Chief for awhile and it looks to me that they have abandoned him, you would think that Shawn or Jeff Lutz would talk to him, I'm just assuming since I'm not there but they have been friends for a long time and I feel like he needs them to talk with him and support him, I'm probably not putting it into words on how I feel but you know what I mean.

Once it's out on the streets getting beat all the time by super charged and turbocharged cars it will happen. It happens to every racer. They start out nitrous swear they will never go turbo and a year or 2 later then are forced induction lol

@Nolan Salas Possibly, nitrous just takes a lot of good tuning to not hurt stuff. Turbo cars take a fraction of the upkeep in comparison. I have very little experience with nitrous honestly, I do however have a few turbo rides. I like turbos much more...I can think of hundreds of cars that came facrory with a turbo...or turbos, I think there was one car ever that came with nitrous.

Great video as always, the wisdom chief has is astounding to be honest. He’s like a book of knowledge and doesn’t mind sharing it either, it’s cool that he builds his cars though because not a lot of people can say that to be completely honest. Keep up the good work and hope to see the cars running soon.
