This video is about FIRST TIME HEARING The Smiths This Charming Man-Morrissey. A music video showing the ego of Morrissey as he dances around singing about his handsomeness and his charm. An arrogant song written by Pete Mozza. I am an Amazon affiliate, I've found the ultimate Morrissey tracks

Robert Smith (The Cure) also thought he was arrogant. He punched him in the face for it at some club and Neil was forever scared of him since then.

know this was a year ago, but you seemed to have really misinterpreted the lyrics, Morrissey isn’t talking about himself here. the lyric is: “i would go out tonight, but i haven’t got a stitch to wear, this man said “it’s gruesome that someone so handsome should care.”” throughout the song a scenario or more a story, is depicted of a lower-class person who faces difficulty coming into contact with the upper-class, but feels unwelcome due to his lack of material wealth, he’s approached by a man in a nice car and offered a ride, to which the man charms him with that line said previously. it demonstrates how drastically different the perspectives of them are, with lines like “why pamper life’s complexity, when the leather runs smooth on the passenger seat?” as he’s experiences a level of lavish he never has. Morrissey is a brilliant writer.

So many people don't realise that Morrissey writes many of his songs as though they were mini plays, so from different characters different lines come from these characters. It's a story. To therefore assume that he is declaring his personal opinion is an oversight, and to then conclude that he has a massive ego for lines in his songs. Yes there are songs that are autobiographical and there are songs that carry the punk rock attitude which can seem arrogant but this attitude inspired many people who needed to hear a voice against the establishment for the establishment at the time, Thatcher's government, was against the best interests of the working class of which Morrissey was a part of, the son of working class immigrants. When Morrissey says things that are over the top or arrogant he's usually being tongue in cheek, and it is possible as human beings we are multi faceted and complex, to carry around the insecurities of our upbringing and the self deprecating humour that comes with it, Morrissey is using self deprecating humour when he makes egotistical or arrogant remarks. When your only information about Morrissey comes from social media or Wikipedia you're getting the personal and often prejudiced views of others. If you want to know or learn anything about him I suggest just listening to the songs. Don't view the lyrical content through the lens of today's ridiculous politically correct agenda. And if you do ("you" I mean you or anyone else who cares to read this!) "you" should know that Morrissey sang about gender issues, feminism and racism years ago. His most favourite and inspiring playwrite was Shelagh Delaney who wrote A Taste of Honey in the 60's and the film based on the book features the main actress Rita Tushingham saying the line "I haven't got a stitch to wear" ... There's so much to learn about Morrissey and the literature and films that inspired him, he hoped to inspire his fans to explore literature and films and left us clues everywhere, in the lyrics and on the album and single covers which showcased the people that inspired him. Morrissey has laid bare his soul and sung songs about his deepest insecurities, deepest sorrows and his flaws. This takes honesty and guts. Having said all that, I loved seeing you enjoy and listen to the lyrics, and to "get" the humour is also good to see because many people don't get the humour which is very dry and dead pan. It's typical Northern English humour. Thanks for doing this reaction.

I’m glad you took the time to write me. As I said, I know very little about him, his upbringing or his insight. I have tried to comment solely on the music in my latest reactions and not be swayed by the opinions of others. I admit I did that with this reaction as I was new to reacting

@@CanadianReacts I understand, easy to do. If you Google a Morrissey topic you'll get, and I'm actually not exaggerating, 30 or more pages of the same article with a slightly different headline because the different media outlets use one source (usually the original interview) then they edit it to reflect the answers as statements made in the most outrageous and inflammatory way and mix in their personal opinion which fits with the popular pc social justice warrior culture. Professional journalist's don't push their personal agenda unless there's pressure from above. A hint of this is in the length of the article which consists mainly of about four paragraphs and contains many typo's. Morrissey even sued two magazines over this, his statement about immigration was made to make him look racist when he was simply answering a question and talking about the E.U. and there now being open borders in Britain, when he said the flood gates are open he was right because now anyone from Europe can come to the UK and work, including poor unskilled labourers who don't boost the economy but put a strain on it. But saying anything about this now is presented as racism and right wing, the left call anyone who doesn't agree with them as right wing, Morrissey doesn't even vote! He was successful in suing those magazines but he wasn't interested in receiving any money, just a written apology and the judge demanded he receive one. Pity that this is overlooked and even though his opinion about immigration was fair and relating specifically to the issues in Britain and not immigration in general the media still mention him having "racist opinions on immigration". Sorry to go on a rant. this just came to mind because you will definitely be exposed to the media's campaign of hate against him and it will be easy to assume the media is right and honest (when really they're just putting information out there that people will click on because it looks controversial) I just see many people online writing things because they've read stuff somewhere about him which is wrong or misunderstood. When you and I were younger it was simpler, and the interviews we read were done by people with careers in journalism and published in a more honest way. Now it's almost impossible to find articles with an opposing agenda. There is a website, I'll look for the link, it contains all of the interviews with Morrissey and they are really funny and interesting. You get a good idea of his personality. For example a journalist asked "How does it feel to be voted Manchester's greatest ever frontman?" Morrissey answered "I'm absolutely exhausted from sending all those votes" which shows how sarcastic and quick witted he can be. Sounds arrogant but it's his humour. Sorry, didn't mean to write so much. Thanks for your answer don't feel you have to answer me again. I'm really enjoying your reactions, I'm still watching them now ... I mean until I stopped to respond hahaha

Listen to “Suffer Little Children” it’s by the smiths it has a really sad meaning. It is about this couple who murdered several children and threw them in moorland ( large field ) in Manchester in England where the band are from. Just listen to it and google it to get a better explanation. Ps love your vids. This is the second one I’ve watched

Yes it is if you want to do any research on it just google the moors murders but just be carful because some of the things are quite disturbing. But it is a very famous case in the north west of England ( where Manchester is) but I only live like 40 minutes from Manchester so I researched it about a year ago

It's funny to see him smile and to obviously get the humour but to totally dismiss Morrissey as arrogant and wrongfully believing that the lines in this song are autobiographical! Just because most artists sing only from their perspective (which could be considered as egotistica) really this is laziness, especially when in fact they often pay someone else to write their lyrics, those artists receive many accolades even though they're not as gifted or as talented as Morrissey, so when I see people making nasty and ignorant comments about Morrissey it annoys me, he's been successful since the early 80's and I'd like to see these people try and write a song! Imagine the results!
