theres a short clip in there somewhere that shows rollcage tubing attached to the 2 towers with a metal plate thats super sneaky hiden under that shelf hahah but after i fit a fuel cell, i will be adding gussets for more strength. other than that, this is completely unnecessary but i agree it looks really cool hahah

yea im skeptical too, if needs to be bigger diameter, ill do soo in post before i paint, but i dont want a giant pipe just yet, and i agree on doing a gusset under the shelf but im going to wait until i build a rear firewall and boot floor so i can think about a fuel tank and what i have for room in there. basically build a gusset around a fuel cell. the dimple die set is from eastwood.com but there not mine, its my buddies in the shop. there really nice and i believe there chromoly

@@klegraefe I've seen the Eastwood die's advertised but not seen them used before, they look pretty good. I was having a think about your push rods. We had a flex problem with our rear wing mount on an earlier race car which was thin wall ally tube ( bit to thin ) I didn't have time to remake then before the next event, so wrapped them in bias weave carbon fibre. No real weight gain but a lot stronger...... Got the grinder out and roughed up the surface. epoxy resin. wrap the bias weave round the tube about 3 times. wrap peel ply round that and then masking tape round the peel ply. 24 hours later unwrap everything... It increased the wall thickness by about 2 1/2 mm, seemed to do the trick, and it looked like it was a carbon fibre mount, did a couple of seasons with them before we change the design. Use bias weave cause it has strength both ways. Just a thought.....

mee too i cant wait hahah. im feeling pretty confident about it, its just the ratio and spring rates ill have to figure out, as of now theres 250 lb srpings that i had on the shelf, so ill try these and see what happens, but with the rockers being 2 3/4 inch on one side and 4 inches on the other side, it will lower the spring rate, but idk how much haha. soo itll be a fun test

Honestly I just kind of guessed based on photos I was looking at😅, until test day I wont no how she’ll act. But I’m pretty confident it’s a nice place to start. If anything, I suppose I could rebuild them to be 3x3. Some people even put extra wholes for more adjustability, so you can move them around with ease. And another thing is different spring rates. You could swap out springs and that will change everything too. So for me I just got a typical coil over for a mini and a basically 3x4 L which will make the spring feel a little bit lighter if that makes sense 😅 hope this helps🙏🏻🙏🏻

Haha, well I appreciate the honesty. I mean if it works it works. That does make sense that the spring would feel the same if you did a 3x3 rocker. And a bit softer with a 3x4..you'd get more compression out of the same amount of travel. Did you do 3 inches because that was roughly the amount of travel in the spring or was it the amount of travel in your control arms?

@@seanhiggins704 na, I did 4 inches on the bottom because the center of the mini to the wheel arch was 4-5 inches away from my shock fully extended and I wanted my push rods as vertical as possible. This is hard to explain I hope it makes sense hahah. Actually in a newerer episode, I actually trimmed about 3 inches or so off the length of the pushrod because I had to remake shorter rear control arms bringing in the rear tires more inboard to the car and thus making a higher pushrod bracket. Suppose it’ll help limit the flex of the push rod being so long as it is 😂🙏🏻
