Mini Cooper 1.8t Swap More Cage Things

Thinking at this point, a good amount of the cage is layed out inside the car and i can start moving towards the front of the car where i can finally have a look at mounting the motor. Inside the car, is by no means done at all but solid enough i can move to the front.

Thanks Ravi, those long bends been kicking my ass. For me its a slow process as im an asshole and im trying to get the tightest fit so i can salvage soon interior room hahah

@@klegraefe looks like it takes some math / thinking too. It looked like the cross over the rear view mirror could have used a bend bringing it closer to the roof…. But then again it musta been tough enough to get it to that point. Looks great either way 👍

@@RaviRamdeo yea i really wanted to get a nice curve for the roof but that would have been the death of me hahah, trying to make them slight bends in my bender would have been a challenge but im happy overall

Thanks Gafrers!! Its been a slow last couple of weeks. Been taking my time trying to get these bars to fit just right. Really i wanted to notch out a part of the dash and get them a bit more forward or more towards the windshield but i still see it as a win for me hahah. Thanks for watching man!!

Nice tube work. How are you going to get round the back and underneath to weld the sill tubes. I usually do it with an MMA and bend the stick a bit at a time..

Personal preference but theres different theories on this. If u can get more than lets say 90 percent of that tube welded around and throw in a few gussets to make up the difference. Im going to add gussets where ever i can for sure. But i think i might just cut a square open on the sill side so i can access the rest of the tube. Theres no way i got 90 percent of that tube. Id say like 75 percent is welded so i deff need to open it up and get it right

@@klegraefeOur regs are continuous weld all the way round. I often cut a 3 sided flap and bend it back for access

For this im using 1 1/2 DOM tubing and its .120 wall 👌🏻

I am using a Subaru impreza diff.and honda civic short axles..perfect width for mini

@@petersoolum9549 nicee!!! Im gonna be using audi diff for now and splice the axles on my lathe to fit the miata knuckles. But i an looking for a different diff currently, one that i can change the ring and pinion gears. Atm the moment i cant find nothing thatll suit mee
