If you guys liked the reading challenge, you'll love this one where we try to write BASIC Chinese characters. Writing Chinese is soooooooo hard :'( We definitely need to relearn how to write chinese hahaha. We write chinese in both traditional chinese and simplified chinese it's not really a traditional vs simplified but we just grew up learning different ones. Edward's writing tho. Even the mistakes he made. You can tell he got a good sense of Chinese radicals, and native Chinese would understand what he's trying to write. Meanwhile Sheldon and Mike are basically drawing.

+CantoMando btw Sheldon here. I'm not crazy right. This memory thing is a real thing lol. Anyone else have this problem? Ex. Mike's mom can recognize traditional words but can't write them out. SAME THING IT'S REAL LOL

I learned simplified so I only know how to write simplified, but the traditional ones are easily recognizable. haha did you guys learn traditional (so many extra strokes ;-;)?

Nah man, i have the same problem as Sheldon HAHAHAHA I can read and recognise the characters fine, but if you ask me to write it, I have a very vague memory of what they actually look like :^)

I’m learning Chinese and this is so true, I can read huge paragraphs fine but can hardly write simple things from memory. Whenever I try to explain this to people they think I’m mad so I’m glad Sheldon understands 😂

So as a psychology major, reading and writing are in different parts of the brain and memory doesn't have a specific area but throughout the entire brain, so technically, Sheldon is right, it is a different part of his memory. I do the same thing like I can read sentences and such but don't ask me for writing a short story.

6:31 Sheldon wrote ㄹ, that's Korean for r/l. And he wrote 노 (noh) and ㅅ (s). If you listen to Mike from 7:51 you can hear him say that Sheldon is learning Korean. So our boy studying Korean and forgetting his own language ...damn how we love a scholar and an actual intellectual 😂😂

Enjoying these skits and challenges! It's great seeing a variety of videos from you guys and to see your personalities come out! It would be cool to see a video where you guys reenact a chinese drama or where you recreate some movies/shows if they were Chinese versions (like the Halloween video). Keep up the great work :)

It is easy to tell that Edward has the most practice for writing. But every bit of mistakes really are hilarious, like what are those new characters? Some sort of new writing system? Anyway, very nice video. God bless y'all.

In Sheldon's defense, writing and reading are different skills to use when talking about language just like listening and speaking are. Listening and reading are both passive skills and take much less effort than speaking and writing which are both active skills.

Tip: y'all can check out simplified chinese, the ones y'all wrote are mainly traditional chinese, which is tougher to remember and write compared to simplified.. take it for someone who sucks in mandarin 😁 Example: Traditional -【客氣】, Simplified -【客气】

I'm learning Chinese atm at university as well as japanese and Korean. But my main language I'm learning it Japanese. You guys are so funny. It's easier for me to learn Japanese kanji with Chinese characters because a lot of them mean the same thing just sound different like 口 kou is 口(くち) kuchi in Japanese and it means mouth in both languages. I like watching you guys.

I just found your channel and I love it. I'm an ABC, went to a Chinese school that taught Cantonese for 6-7 years, learnt Mandarin at regular school for 9 years, but I suck at both and can basically only read and write. I find it hilarious how bad Sheldon's writing is, though you all are pretty bad tbh lol
