Been playing about 30 hours, haven't even seen a shovel yet.

i’m new to this & decided i wanted to be a “fisherman” in this life, so i’m slowly going to build a base close to the shore so i can fish & eventually have enough to give out to random players if i see ‘em. so, if you see a barricaded home close to shore on the NE corner of the map, stop by!

My trick is not to get high elevation but low place, deer isle has nice spots.. people give way too much time to build base... sometimes good spot and using one tent from trader stands longet then proper base.. also split base on your favorite way is solution.. build big is what makes clans come to raid you.. and every modded server now has zergs running and raiding these bases... not sure if you can place barrels in to the watter it was op too now people dont want to get wet .. i place base in swamp and its cool... also good trick is not to build in too safe place, find building with many zombies around. They will be anoying for any camper who wants sit and aim your doors if they spot you run in.. if you make split bases make sure base1 have vision to base2. .

Great vid. I sometimes build shelters from sticks in the tree lines of plentiful areas because they’re the most camouflaged. It’s a great way to stash stuff if you can’t find planks, nails and shovel.

One tip I know not really for a base but just for stashing is to place containers inside the foundations of buildings with only a small corner clipping out. If I can't find a shovel that's usually what I do. Also cutting down a tree and burying stuff under the cut down tree so it's harder to see the digged up dirt. One actual base building tip is to build your base/stash inside cliffs. You can find small dips that people can't see from the bottom of the cliffs or from above that people don't check often. I had a solo base that lasted a whole wipe in the cliffs on the center far north of the map.

the safest thing you can is to make a stash in a forest, pick a large wooded area with lots of bushes (the kind that you can not chop down) and you should be good. On official servers and console your best bet is to just have stashes in high dense wooded areas. On modded PC servers sometimes building a small base is better, you WILL get raided but your base will last longer than most others. If you are going to build a large base on a modded server make it have as many doors as possible and also a secret stash somewhere that is not inside your base (usually in a tree). On deer isle I had a few safes dotted around the map and they never got touched across 3 wipes. On a Rostow map I built a tiny base with literally 2 walls protecting it and it went untouched for 2 wipes. At the moment its not about how big a base you build, it's about where you build and where you place your walls to cause as many problems as possible. If you can make a base without watchtowers and just placing walls correctly so people can't see them that is the way to go. Watchtowers are a big sign that shouts "RAID ME"

Trick 1 - read map, never stay between spots like military and trader.. . keep trader about 3k close, also watch wells and houses around.. if you live in place where less resources you make harder for someone stay your base and attempt to raid. Good trick is rebuild raided base or pretend to be raided base.. people dont care about place where they saw its once raided. Trick enemy mind. make your time, build not one room but try to fake another room close to base where you have vision to see someone try to raid fake doors.. I also like vision to the gass station if you feel like people camp you or coming raid shoot gas and it will smoke till restart and trust me people will come PVP and your enemy will have hard time outside. Something is best option if you play solo making noise and bring counter raid.. its culture from rust DayZ has younger basebuilding but simillar strategy.. Sometimes if you dont wont to be raided build base at busy place. Its Ez raid in forrest, but hard on the street where people run between towns. . But just few tips how i see it now when i try to find spot for mine

I’m currently building a little warehouse base in the tarnow industrial I feel like any freshy that finds it won’t really want to waste the time if I secure it enough I just don’t feel like doing a marathon when I die to some crazy secluded area

I have my mane loot in the glitched floor in the double building north part of electro. Never got raided since april. I have I have 14 gates so far .... as soon as i have 20 will build a big fence all around the parking lot and make a watch tower on top

you still will get raided even if you airlocked it or honeycombed it. (at least in official servers) grenades arent that hard to get if 3 or more people farm them in separate servers its about how well you hide your base for now hope devs create new ways to make raiding harder or more expensive.

On console you can glitch through any wall anywhere with just a glow stick. A freshie can rads your bass with 1 minute.

Two story buildings are best. Personally, I find the piano house is ideal. Some industrial places have a piano house, ideal. But two story's gives you two levels of walling off. Now, three entrances may seem like a lot of hard work to gate/wall off. But, three entrances, means three exits - so difficult to door camp. Also, the piano house means you can't be wall banged.

Lol had two other bases in the back of the map with no issue yet so thought why not make one by Cherno, long story short it only lasted about an hour until I seen someone raiding it thought the walls because I was lagging so hard, I think ima stick with hidden loot cache for now on...

I often hav stashes on the shoreline in evry town incase I die, will hav water, knife and weapon. Regarding bases building I use alota grenade tripwire traps or better yet, landmines... the idea is that they will die trying to get in my base lol... if not by the traps, the zombies that the noise will draw. The location needs to protect itself wile u not home... rat players exist.

I build a base and ruins, build 2 layers in the front entrance, was gonna double the back but i made the mistake to move my ak74 and 101 in there already. Long story short the back wall got raided and they took them lmao. Not making that mistake no more.

I built a base under a bridge, just two watch towers and a gate, everything with camouflage. Three hours later I got spotted 🤷‍♂️ I often run straight into one direction, and I found lots of 'hidden bases'. I don't know if there is a working method. Even 'base raid=off' does not help against grenades, guns or climbers

Great vid….but my best opinion is not to build a base..raiding is too easy…instead hide your loot in wooden crates…do not build in farm houses or houses…this is 2021 dayz has to do a better job at base protection

the biggest problem is that there is no floors (for vanilla basebuilding) & it is pretty cheap and easy to raid bases. you just need like 4grenades to blow up a wall or few mags ..

My base isn't protected but it is very hidden and I have been raided and all that it is just an improvised shelter with crates inside

People jump over fences with barrels and cars or maybe even friends ? Only way is to block existing buildings which kind of sucks.

Great video but just a heads up to everyone if people have enough time they "pick" your code lock pretty easily if you have a 3 digit code so I would suggest using a 4 digit code on your front gate because I got raided like that and I had a car 5 barrels and 12 crates full of loot plus 2 ghillie suits and nvgs :( (I play official surprisingly)

I’m new to the game and was wondering if me and my brothers were to build a base would it be wiped? I’ve seen around online that it wasn’t really worth it to build on due to the servers being buggy. So you could really lose all your shit in a blink of an eye it just really depended on the server. Have the devs fixed this? And should we just not build a base at all? Thanks in advance to anyone who helps. My brothers and I play on PS4 (sadly)
