Awesome info! Would be even better if you would rank the 13 causes by probability (most likely/average/not likely). For example, the drive belt causes I would say are "not likely" or at least, rather obvious. Fans, relay, and faulty compressor have been what I would call, most likely. Low freon has never triggered the blinking light for me even when freon was, in fact, low (typically, warm air is the indicator 😊). What do you think?

My air is coming out hot, I put refrigerant & the compressor didn’t come on & the light is snowflake is still blinking…Any ideas on the cause..??

Was trouble shooting this exact issue. Found relay, remove, test: fine. Find fuse, remove, test: fine. Try and see with flashlight if compressor clutch is frozen. It’s then that I see that crappy overcharging Toyota mechanic who replaced my alternator disconnected the power to the compressor and neglected to hook it back up after replacing alternator.

Ok Paul you have been very helpful. I did find and replace a bad burnt up ac comp relay on my 2008 Lexus is250. What’s weird is it’s still blinking.. I did burn out and replace my alternator just before this problem. It must be something I hit or didn’t put back together correctly. Any tip??

Nice informative video. What about a compressor clutch that activates for only three seconds every time along with blinking A/C light and NO diagnostic codes.....BUT with known good relay, good front and rear amplifiers, good ohms reading on connector, good voltage to connector and clutch, good freon charge, good pressures, and cools great.....but will not stay engaged. ?? It is wearing me out. Everything seems to check out. Thanks

Awesome help thank you mine was flashing when I headed home from work and tonight when I got in to market parking lot but n Ow it’s back on and I’m getting cold air? That would have to be electronical correct such as sensor or relay not getting info or something. Thank for help

this was helpful, but my problem is that my 2002 CAM LE blows ac on high in all vents then after 5 mins makes a sound like the vents shut down AC goes to driver side vent neat window passsenger side vent near window then on top were the defroster vent is at....any ideas? please advise

The ac cycling switch on my Jeep liberty kept in continuity all the times causing freezing the line. It must be always cycling on off (it's located on accumulator)

Toyota is usually the relay or a bad compressor. Honda’s have a lot of relays go out.

Very good explanation.My Ford Fiesta ecoboost 2015 has a temperamental a/c clutch,sometimes it's on sometimes is not.When the snowflake light was on last night or under 4 degrees it did not engage the AC clutch and fan radiator, now it's 4° it does not turn on. But at 6° the AC clutch engaged and the radiator fan too. Right now it's 7° and I stay with the AC on and radiator fan too working as it should. So relays and fuses all good I presume. Is the AC clutch engaging only after 6° ? Is the AC connected to the radiator fan? I have coolant at the max,AC system was recharged a week ago.

The ac clutch and fan normally do not engage when it’s cold outside.

@@proclaimliberty2000 when I turn on the AC sometimes it's working sometimes it's not. When I put the AC on the radiator fan comes on too.is it normal? The fan can work by itself but AC only with the radiator fan I think it's working and if it's above 6° from what I noticed.is the AC conditioned by the temperature outside like below 4 won't start?

@@proclaimliberty2000 or when it's too cold outside the AC does not turn on because hot air is coming in from the engine anyway? And when it's hot outside only then AC clutch works to give cold air?

@@proclaimliberty2000 so it should turn on properly with the AC compressor clutch to engage/magnetise even if the snowflake lights in the dashboard.

I got a 2014 Mitsubishi outlander sport and it blows cold but whenever the day gets hotter or the car gets ran for a while it starts blinking then doesn't blow cold at all, what do you think it could be?

I have a 2016 Sentra, light flashes upon start of vehicle some kind of clicking for the AC then after light stops AC will turn on and will remain to work while vehicle is still running but after some time after engine cools upon start will repeat. Just started today.

I have a 2003 Hyundai Tiburon GT my AC light flashes or gitters,,When its off the air does not blow cold However if i Jiggle the temp control inside the cat It becomes solid green . or if I move the housing a little. there seems to be a short. Would this be the wires within the housing connected to the control knob? its the housing that encloses the Stereo and the air conditioner. Is this part of your reasons why ?

It sounds like you’ll have to remove the housing for further investigation of a possible short. Are you able to get cold air with a solid green light?

@@marcusgraham163 It sounds like you have a short or a loose connection. This was not one of the reasons covered in the video.
