2:25 A little mistake. The literal translation is "Here there are no ghost gangs". The Soviet soldiers called the Mujahideen "duh", which means ghost. So the real meaning is "There are no mujahideen gangs here". "Ghost gangs" is used because of the bushwack doctrine the Mujahideen operated on, ambushing then disappearing.

This is a song about Russians attacking Mujahideen convoys that came from Pakistan. A lot of Russian paratroopers died in the suicide missions where their task was to destroy the enemy convoys supplying the Mujahideen behind enemy lines

Actually, that's a common misconception. The term "dukhi" came from the word "dukhman", which is a bastardized form of "dushman" simply meaning "enemy". While it indeed means "ghost" in Russian, it holds no connection in this context whatsoever.

*P.O.V* : the whole song has been playing about a soldier who has survived the war , all of them are about his experiences . At the end when goes to silence him and three of his friends who did not participate toast's to the dead. He says : _Well since you're here......why not we do a toast,for all the ones that have died there._ Friend 2 : _I agree it's the least we can do_ *Both stands up* *TO THE FALLEN* they say. The soldier sits emotionless,with a blank stare. Most likely, under the "caravan" Rosenbaum means weapons transported from Pakistan by the Mujahideen, from which they killed russian soldiers. Rosenbaum himself, in addition to performing music, personally participated in the Afghan war. In war, he both shot and killed. His songs "Black Tulip" (in russian "Чёрный Тюльпан"), "The Road of a Lifetime" (in russian "Дорога длиною в жизнь") and "Caravan" contain the personal feelings, which he experienced in the war.

The goverment said it is the "international debt". Due to a communistic ideology. The USSR supported a pro-Soviet afghan politics. Supported progressive afghan and fought the conservative taliban.
