Ohh Good i thought, he's the butler not the buffer or merchant, my apologies if your being sincere, and all around kind hearted, but i have been a little aggressive on my replies. You leave room for spevculation, It normally has to come from within. That's simply love stated and straight to the point!! Shame on her father for telling her she wasn’t beautiful like her sisters, but she “had” something about her (her personality-I guess he was referring to)...it was only his opinion anyway, which proves NOT her truth! She is a gem, totally authentic, beautiful-inside/out & talented!
@carlosoliveira-rc2xt3 жыл бұрын
She already realized she wasn't as beautiful as her sisters. Telling an obvious lie does no one any favours. Her father did not claim she wasn't beautiful but admitted her sisters may be more so and offered a consoling alternative.
@Light-Shift Жыл бұрын
He said she was a thoroughbred meaning she had depth talent and charisma. Not everyone is beautiful and personally I cant stand smarmy saccarine lies from people, usually women, trying in vain to make everything equal. Everything is not equal and everyone is unique not cloned carbon copies of each other. She grew into beauty and was not beautiful as a child. She was an adorable tomboy.
@HeartWorX.Creations Жыл бұрын
@@Light-Shifth plz spare me your depiction of what her father said -and she stated that he said she was “like a thoroughbred” -but how do any of us truly know what his meaning was w/that…??……In my opinion, he was wrong to even say anything that compared her looks to her sisters (obviously that era & him being a man), parents need to be better at not negating children’s appearances -after all, what we look like as kids isn’t something we can control, we don’t have vanity to worry about and/or shouldn’t be told we’re not as pretty as our siblings, etc., etc., each child needs to be encouraged & reassured on their talents or gifts, so they can further be expounded upon as they grow up. Words can make or break kids, especially when adolescent aged, is what I’ve learned… Some of your comments seem rather chauvinistic -from my interpretation, but that’s a whole other subject now isn’t it! Saying she wasn’t beautiful as a child from viewing this clip is only your opinion as well-which entirely feeds into what her father told her-I hope you didn’t do the same to your kids if U have any…

I have a respect for Carly Simon and her talent and am just a little enamored of her as well. Carly (if I may be so familiar) finds adversity a relief because it takes the pressure off of her in that the concert is not going to be perfect anyway, so she doesn't have to be perfect. She is a womanly woman true, but I find her lyrics very personal and very, very well written. She has so many great songs. One example is considered a minor song of hers but I just love the personal and well written lyrics and the upbeat melody....."Think I'm Going To Have A Baby". Just a wonderful song.

@EastSide-qc5oy3 жыл бұрын
B. Bernal Some would argue, especially with those things being highly subjective, those aren’t the kinds of ideas parents should be putting into their kid’s heads i.e. whether they are pretty or not in comparison to other people. Especially a father to a daughter. Kids are going to learn how they fit in and where they stand naturally through their experiences in the world (for better or worse) and it maybe isn’t a good idea to be determining that for your kid before they grow up and go out into the world.

I had forgotten how good music reporting was in the 1980s back before budget constraints and personnel cuts forced everybody in the newsroom to work what had previously been considered three different jobs. Still, Chantal was quite a powerhouse. Along with a camera unit and maybe an assistant at the edit bay, she put a lot of effort into this package: Writing that beautiful and succinct intro sequence, conducting the interview, intercutting it with the 8mm home movie footage, station breaks and tags. Great story. And of course you gotta love Carly Simon.
