Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is knowing that you don't put a tomato in a fruit salad. Sadly, we have people with knowledge but no wisdom when it comes to buying a shiny new car. Spending money they don't have, to buy something they don't need to impress people that don't care.

@@TheRealestHi So true! I am a retired production worker at the Honda plant in Alabama. 6 years ago I was making over $90,000.00 a year. Ford and GM have recently given their auto workers gigantic pay increases. There is no telling what their assembly line workers make now! Slow sales, overpriced vehicles and overpaid workers are the perfect storm waiting to happen. Companies can't come down enough on their prices. Disaster ahead for someone! @@JohnGotts So true! I get tired of people ignorantly stating how poor people in Alabama are. Who is the richest, someone in California making $500,000.00 a year living in a 1500 sq ft house in a neighborhood with houses packed together like sardines, or someone making 90k in Alabama with a 2,000 sq ft house on 10 acres or land with a pond and quarter mile long private driveway? It's not extreme. My grandpa worked over 35 years for GM/Toyota at their joint manufacturing plant in CA. I asked him about why cadillacs costed so much. He laughed, said they spend maybe 2k more to build the cadillacs than the Chevy equivalent, but they slap that badge on and charge double. On top of that, it was only costing about 15k to build say an escalade, but they turn around and charge 100k. Yeah, 50 percent cuts aren't unreasonable. It's just greed and stockholder bs. Edit: btw this was years ago, it possible costs have gone up, probable even, but they still make massive profits per vehicle. If they didn't, the plants wouldn't be able to keep producing.

I diagnosed it myself it was a weak battery throwing a shifter code. She never needed a shifter at all. DEALERS ARE CROOKS. She didnt drive the car enough to keep the battery charged fully. I was just looking and the Chrysler Pacificas are all over 50k + in my area. A base Toyota Sienna is 39k and its pretty optioned out in base form. Even 39k is way to high for a base family mini-van and beyond the reach of most families...... But why-O-why would anybody spend 20 to 30 percent more for a Chrysler over a Toyota? I've been in the market for a car since my transmission died in July last year. I outright REFUSE to pay what they're asking so I chose to walk instead. On bad weather days I'll take a cab. It's about 3.5 miles each way to work and while not ideal it's been good. But I still check in at a few lots and I still see the exact same cars there that were there in August. 6-7 months and nothing moving. I've checked on a few of them and the dealers have absolutely refused to budge on the price at all saying they'd be losing money but how much more money have they lost just letting them sit. I told one guy that my $20k is better than letting the car sit and rot and he laughed. That was just before labour day last year. The car is still sitting there and it's dropped from $27k down to $22k now but even if he met my price I wouldn't take it on principle. He had his chance.

Sure, nobody wants EVs. Keeping telling yourself that. People actually don't want large expensive ICE trucks and SUVs. There are thousands of those sitting on lots not selling. I’m a mechanic. The problem I see with keeping them running is the crazy prices to fix them. $200 an hour. Parts prices have stayed pretty reasonable but the quality has tanked since ‘20. I see so many parts bad right out of the box. If everyone stops replacing cars then labor prices will go even higher, labor quality will get even worse than it currently is and parts will become scarce. We need new cars to be pumped into the supply. Manufacturers are just going to have to rebate the hell out of existing supply and start making base models again.

posted on your youtube channel 5.3.23, Ford is toast, most manufacturers will be toast as well!! Why? capital and earth destroying EVs and too much focus on SUVs and Trucks vs keeping a few lower priced cars and sedans lines open. Toyota will be the biggest winner especially when they realize they could sell a boat load of high mpg, low frills, low tech cars like the Yaris and likely make $$ on them. I drive a 2007 Yaris, roll up windows, manual locks and nothing tech. I love it!! I have 221K and still going strong. I used to own a few Subarus and tracked ALL expenses to come up with an all-in-total cost of ownership of .41 per mile. My current '07 Yaris has an all in total cost of ownership at .21 per mile with an all in city/hwy mpg of 35mpg and has saved me roughly about $36K in ownership cost vs a Subaru that I owned up to 215k miles. Hopefully someone from Toyota will see this and go low tech high mpg with low low ownership cost like the 2007 Yaris; you will win in the end!!
