📜 Video Description 📜
Now that Mark has been improving his ability to make good folds, it's time to go back to the drawing board and fgind out what other leaks need fixing in his game. In this video I diagnose two big leaks that Mark needs to plug in order to take the next steps in his cash game poker career.

Very, very important point: “betting small doesn’t mean you’re betting range”. Loads of people at micro stakes think small means range…

On the A9o hand at 10:00, villain's line is super weak and transparent, especially given the 1/2p sizing, so I definitely prefer to raise to punish them for trying to bet too thinly with a hand like Jx or 66 as Pete mentioned.

Hi. I am not sure if Mark or Pete will see this but I just have a couple of thoughts. I am assuming that Mark works full time (as do I) and is currently playing poker in his spare time with the intention of it being a profitable hobby (which is also what I am trying to do). I assume this is also the case for most microstakes players as realistically, you need to be beating 200NL+ consistently to be making a living. I am wondering if I should accept that as a microstakes player, I'm unlikely to ever be able to make a living playing poker. I have never been able to get past 50NL, and the stakes are too small to be making a living at 50NL anyway. Are most people who play these stakes and watch these videos in a similar position? Do you consider making a living playing poker to be a realistic goal for someone who is still playing microstakes today?

Profitable hobby / side income is my current target @elpistolero. Unless you live in a low cost country I don’t think it’s really possible to make a living playing 50nl online. Good luck in your games! 👍

The rake at 50nl is atrocious. Do everything you can to play a higher stake. The 200nl games aren't exponentially tougher than 50nl. Work, build up a solid bankroll and play in lower raked games.

@@CancelIFR I personally have found 50NL to be way tougher than 25NL. Always assumed it gets exponentially tougher as you climb each stake. The issue I have right now is that I don't feel as though I have an edge over the regulars in the pool. So if I'm not coolering them more than they cooler me, then I'm probably losing money in that session. I'm not really seeing a lot of big, exploitable postflop mistakes from regs. It seems tough to move up unless you have a large skill edge against the pool.

@@elpistolero82 There's a contradiction in thought process. You think 50nl isn't enough to make a living, but you think that all of the regs are solid. They aren't. The best regs move up quickly and don't stay at 50nl. Of course 200nl games are tougher, but they aren't exponentially tougher. People still make the same mistakes that Pete talks about, like over/under bluffing certain spots. You're stuck in a rake trap my friend.
